perhaps or moderna
otherwise AZ. but if sinopharm is the only one u can get take it- 79% or even 50% efficacy is better than 0%.
with hundreds of ppl testing +ve each day it may not be a matter of if, but when u get infected
since i had sign up for mine 3 weeks ago till today when i got the 1st dose 2 ppl in my office went into quarantine, and i know at least 1 said he was +ve. not sure about the other. the +ve one sits 7 feet away from me and hardly wears a mask at work except coming in and going out. good thing we were on rotation for d past few weeks oui.
also last week my mom heard of 2 ppl who died from covid -one was an old retired coworker of hers and the other my cousin-in-law father.
i would have like pfizer but i eh waiting on dat. because if i waited covid might likely get me b4 i get dat shot.
doh pay attention to all of them who say it has a 99% survival rate- sure but it's not all about death either. it's about what can happen to your lungs or other organs. would u want to spend the next several months being short of breath by simply going up a few stairs? or just walking? or not being able to exercise as normal ? ppl fraid clots from d AZ vaccine but u more likely to get it from covid itself.

No side effects so far except slight pain at injection site which is only felt occasionally depending on how I move my arm.
No fever or anything.

part of the infodemic and the "death of expertise having any importance".
People think because they have access to information, that they are capable of their own meta analysis using fragments of data. It's good to have this information, but listen to the medical experts.
I've been telling people from early, ignore the Karens of the internet and talk to their doctor if they have any medical concerns.
My dad had an adverse reaction to the swine flu vaccine and ended up in a wheelchair 10 years ago. He was pissed when I told him I'm going for this vaccine, but it was out of love and concern. I can see why vaccine hesitancy is a thing, but don't listen to the morons on soapboxes who don't have an inkling of what they're talking about. Talk to your GP. If you don't trust your GP, best of luck with your health.

So how come Grenada have vaccine to give away? We're they more proactive and caring in their approach?
Bahrain, Facing a Covid Surge, Starts Giving Pfizer Boosters to Recipients of Chinese Vaccine
Residents who are over 50, are obese or have chronic illnesses are urged to get a Pfizer-BioNTech shot six months after their full Sinopharm vaccination
Published clinical data on Sinopharm’s efficiency among the population groups most vulnerable to severe disease is scant. The vaccine’s main clinical trial involved 40,382 participants in the Middle East, most of them in the United Arab Emirates.
The study’s peer-reviewed results, published on May 26 by the Journal of the American Medical Association, found 78% efficacy against symptomatic disease for one of two versions of the Sinopharm vaccine. However, the cohort was made up mostly of healthy young men—the participants’ mean age was 36—and the study reported only two cases of severe disease, a statistically insufficient amount, in the placebo group.
In a separate, unpublished, real-world study of Sinopharm in Serbia, 29% of 150 participants were found to have zero antibodies against the virus three months after they received the first of two shots of the vaccine. The average age of the people who participated in the Serbian study was higher than 65.
“The Sinopharm vaccine is not immunogenic enough, and it appears that its impact is especially low on elderly recipients,” said Olgica Djurkovic-Djakovic, the doctor who headed the study at the University of Belgrade and shared the findings with The Wall Street Journal. Ten people out of the 150 who received Sinopharm and participated in the study contracted Covid-19, she said.
