Bahrain is starting to give recipients of the Sinopharm a Pfizer booster.

Apparently, 30% over persons over 65 who get Sinopharm have zero immunity to covid.

Published clinical data on Sinopharm’s efficiency among the population groups most vulnerable to severe disease is scant. The vaccine’s main clinical trial involved 40,382 participants in the Middle East, most of them in the United Arab Emirates.

The study’s peer-reviewed results, published on May 26 by the Journal of the American Medical Association, found 78% efficacy against symptomatic disease for one of two versions of the Sinopharm vaccine. However, the cohort was made up mostly of healthy young men—the participants’ mean age was 36—and the study reported only two cases of severe disease, a statistically insufficient amount, in the placebo group.

In a separate, unpublished, real-world study of Sinopharm in Serbia, 29% of 150 participants were found to have zero antibodies against the virus three months after they received the first of two shots of the vaccine. The average age of the people who participated in the Serbian study was higher than 65.

“The Sinopharm vaccine is not immunogenic enough, and it appears that its impact is especially low on elderly recipients,” said Olgica Djurkovic-Djakovic, the doctor who headed the study at the University of Belgrade and shared the findings with The Wall Street Journal. Ten people out of the 150 who received Sinopharm and participated in the study contracted Covid-19, she said.

Based on this we should NOT be giving Sinopharm to over 60s, we should give AZ to over 60s and give the Sinopharm to persons under 60.

Pretty much the opposite of what we're doing right now.

The conclusion is contrary to expert medical opinion:

'Public health officials are urging fully vaccinated people not to place weight on these tests — or even get them in the first place. On May 19, the Food and Drug Administration cautioned against the use of antibody tests to check whether or not one’s COVID-19 vaccine had generated a sufficient immune response to protect them against infection. In a written statement, Dr. Tim Stenzel with the FDA’s Center for Devices and Radiological Health said these tests have “limitations.” 

“Antibody tests can play an important role in identifying individuals who may have been exposed to the SARS-CoV-2 virus and may have developed an adaptive immune response,” he said. “However, antibody tests should not be used at this time to determine immunity or protection against COVID-19 at any time, and especially after a person has received a COVID-19 vaccination.”

The FDA warns that misinterpreting antibody test results could lead people to take fewer precautions than necessary, or cause needless worry. The agency points out that the vaccines themselves can lead to positive antibody results on some tests. 

Conversely, a lack of antibodies detected does not mean that a vaccinated person did not have a protective immune response. The COVID-19 vaccine trains immune cells to notice and attack the signature spike protein. Antibody tests may look for different antibodies that are only produced after natural infection. “Therefore, COVID-19 vaccinated people who have not had previous natural infection will receive a negative antibody test result if the antibody test does not detect the antibodies induced by the COVID-19 vaccine,” according to the FDA.'

Our authorities are not up front with the AZ side effects. Just received info where a very young guy got a stroke after receiving his jab. There are lots more persons with similar or even worst side effects that are NOT being reported!

Why aren't they being reported? Are they known only to you? Please share the information for everyone's benefit.

It's no secret, it's simply even more rare of a side effect. The physicians likely are unable to keep up with the issues.

Expert reaction to letter presenting three cases of ischaemic stroke following the Oxford-AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine

A letter published in the Journal of Neurology Neurosurgery & Psychiatry discusses three cases of ischaemic stroke, blood clots in arteries causing lack of blood supply to part of the brain, reported in young adults after receiving the Oxford–AstraZeneca vaccine.

 
Dr William Whiteley, Reader in Neurology and Consultant Neurologist, University of Edinburgh, said: 

“This paper gives useful insight into three people who had unusual clotting events after vaccination with ChAdOx1 nCoV-19 supporting the existing cases of venous thrombosis associated with arterial occlusion. Fortunately, these are very rare events. Most minor neurological symptoms after vaccination will not be due to a stroke.”

CMO said the international rate of vaccine-induced thrombosis with thrombocytopenia is 1 in 250,000. They already caught and confirmed one reaction locally (with only 60,000 AZ doses distributed), but it is still likely there will be more cases as the rollout continues.

(I would still gladly go for it if it was offered to me).

Day 2 update for AZ
All is well with both parents. Yesterday they felt it though

Moms: fever, body pains, tiredness
Dad: fever

Both slept majority of the day with lots of coconut water, water and club soda in between. They felt very thirsty throughout.

My wife got the AZ and the med staff recc that she take panadol every 6 hrs to suppress those symptoms.
And that the second shot is worse than the first so load up the panadol

CARPHA will decide who gets what in the Caribbean. They were told to prioritize areas with surging cases and low vaccination rates (and we probably a priority on that list).

The call from Kamala Harris to Keith Rowley was in his role as Chairman of the Caribbean Community (CARICOM), according to the VP's official press release. So this still very much a regional gift and not a bilateral gift.

perhaps, but even so sanctions don't apply to humanitarian issues, which would apply to vaccines

if for instance there was an environmental disaster looming between us and venezuela like that oil tanker we would be allowed to intervene
