Don't think a bigger screen alone will make me want to go back to an iPhone. iOS needs to grow up too...

I think cataclysm is more customisable and while some might like it, it can be a bit overwhelming. I really wanted to edit my quick settings and have a battery icon with percent and I got that out of PA.

gonna try the paranoid android rom this evening.....

u guys noticed any bugs / little problems with the franco kernel yet? been reading that stock is better (not sure)....still gonna try it though. lol

I'm currently running rooted stock rom + Franco Kernel
as M_2NR said, a lot of the good stuff is still in beta/nighlys .. I tried cyanogemod on a friend's nexus 5 (since his was one of those with the low speaker volume problems and we had to flash an XDA solution) and at the time it was too buggy for anyone's daily driver.

as far as the kernel being buggy...Ive had no issues.

The funny thing is - Since I've flashed franco's kernel, I believe my phone is faster. But to be completely honest, I don't know. the phone was so damn fast to begin with, maybe its in my head.
However, after a couple of days, I can say that the battery life is better.
Its all about the tweaking anyway, but you'll need to grab the paid version @ playstore.

stev you rooted and all that good stuff yet?
Finally got my helium backups done, so I'll try a few Roms this weekend

Some Details wil help
what do you mean by 'no success'
Errors? is it going through the entire process and then remaining locked?

This could be a simple thing you missed... Did you make sure that usb debugging was ticked if not Odin wouldn't detect the phone..

Hey use the cyanogenmod installer, it's pretty much plug and play. The app installer isn't in play store anymore but you can find it on the cyanogenmod website. I did use it once, even a kid can root a phone now with that app... Check it out

I find my phone running a lil hot now and battery life and lil worse. Probably its an app though... I hoping so... but yea rod this phone just screams. Android devices have caught up. And as swisha said, a screen size alone won't bring me back to apple phones.

If you tried the service menu hack and that didn't work then flashing older firmware will not help you to unlock.

I brought an unlock code on ebay that worked for me, you need to submit the imei to generate the code.

light flow has been behaving strangely of late
gonna drop it, since many apps now support customised led and tone notifications natively..

M_2NR ... worse battery life & heat? have you tweaked anything WRT the processor? I know nexus devices heavily throttle their processors by default...which I suppose is good and bad. could be an app as you said..

agreed...I guess with you guys on iOS :(
Was so happy with that OS for so long... interestingly, I jailbroke my iPhone 5 and sped up the menu animations....contrary to what everyone has been saying, my iPhone showed its age and stuttered often with the lack of animations...apparently they hid my device's slowness

since last night my phone getting warm and battery draining.....figured out this morning that the gmail app was syncing ALL my emails....not 30 days.

My phone spent all night downloading old emails. lol

for some reason the setting changed.....Gmail cache was 0.9Gb this morning.

changed setting back to 30 days and cleared cache.

Dan. Throw away light flow and use paranoid :p notification led config built in.

I just remembered I was forcing automateit on my notification bar and that probably causing the drain. For iOS not to lag u have to turn on increased contrast, turn off parallax/motion. The 4S i had was so much faster.

The kernel creator claims as is its awesome so I'll take his word for it.

Quick question:

Have a relative with the i747 S3 with LTE. He can use the phone for calls but he cannot check the balance or even to enter a new phone card. Error states "invalid USSD or MMi code"

Tried both my sim cards from Bmobile and from Digicel and no avail. Also tried using a comma a the end of the codes with no luck; even a code that had gotten me into a netork menu and even selecting auto or "All" in each section (GSM LTE WCDMA) yielded no results.

is there any special code or option there to be able to use the USSD codes?

I think sometime ago I was reading on xda about someone having this problem, he solved it by registering over the imei code. Google and see if you get lucky.

Did just that this weekend ...pa Beta3 (flashed beta4 this morning )
Also went back with Franco kernel...everything seems good..no issues so far. Loving the immersive mode
But I'm not sure if my use has increased but my battery is draining faster.

I also tried open framework on stock android before that....pretty nice but it forced me to go back to dalvik
