international released versions should still have a sim slot, but that is not like Apple's uniform product style.

Local carriers better get off their ass and start upgrading to eSIM within 2 years.

I guess the fact is that most locals source directly from the US, so unless carriers can get something in place quickly I don’t even know where we can retail ourselves, maybe Canada

So…

Who is trading in their iPhone 13 Pro Max for the 14 Pro Max?

Canada is more expensive. Basically, everywhere is more expensive than the US.

Canadian Apple retail stores looks like the only option moving forward for buying the iPhone 14 line. Very short-sighted move on Apple's part to do this as they have a large chunk of sales coming from international visitors who purchase while in the US to take their unlocked phones back home.

Also won't be able to buy from Apple US online store and ship with courier.

Anyone has any insight into bmobile/Digicel adopting eSIM soon?

Will wait on the YouTube reviews and camera comparisons. But nothing making me feel to switch. Also when IOS 16 releases I’m sure my phone will feel brand new again

Apple website lists 6 carriers in HK that offers eSIM.
https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT209096

Even Vietnam, Kazakhstan and Sri Lanka have eSIM.
lol Trinidad and the whole Caribbean get left behind yes. So prices for the sim card version should end up being higher than (usual) the regular production eSIM for final import price here locally?

you assuming they gonna have a physical unit made to take simcards
kinda like asking if they plan to make one with a headphone jack

that's what i thinking. Apple doesn't operate like that to design a different board and different production line for a single model phone. So hard luck for the mobile markets who didn't upgrade?

btw, basically all of Canada's mobile providers in that link support eSIM, so don't expect it from there.
ha what about business ppl who travel and have to use roaming?

keep a separate physical phone
no fiddling on the plane to change sim card and it falling on the ground under seat whilst waiting the deplane lol

Is trinidad the only place without esim?

Trying to find a recent list for countries where esim are supported but no luck.

Did bmobile or digicel ever provide locked iphones locally?

No I didn't know. But Apple doing this should force carriers to upgrade by iPhone 15 and not content to stay behind. At some point esim should be standard everywhere.

That wud be problems for us here. 99% of digicel or bmobile advice to fix call or service problems is to do a sim swap.

Men hadda wait for Trinidad to get esim or look to buy from another market that has the sim tray. I see in a forum the Canada version 14pro say nano sim and esim.

Well China had a dual sim iPhone a while now and the EU is demanding USB-C standard charge ports - so that uniformity will get broken up

ditto on the local carriers though - fingers crossed

The cellar Apple Watch has been out a while now and no eSIM support locally.
Not that the watch was enough incentive for local carriers to offer it.

Apple caught everyone by surprise with this. The good news is that bmobile and Digicel are going to have to scramble to launch eSIMs soon otherwise they will be losing out on having the new iPhones compatible with their network.

Let’s see how long it takes them
