car with lots of dog scratches

Postby shaneelal » August 26th, 2009, 9:37 pm

I'm interested in purchasing a royal blue corolla, however it has lots of dog scratch marks, owner says a cat sometimes goes on top the car and his dogs scrapes the sides of the car. The scratches don't look deep but there are many.

Please advise on the best approach to remove the scratches and the associated cost. If the cost is too much, I'll have to renegotiate a price for the car.

Thanks.

It was a german shepherd, where can I go to have this professionally done with the special care this work requires?

depending on the state of the scratches you may need to flash over the car.

LAING does not do wet sanding of vehicles....they do hand polishing and light machine polishing....

you can get it buff at dSPEEDLAb in st joseph. call 7145000 ask for bounty or 3955310 ask for jerome.
we will to see the car first to tell u how much and also if buffing will remove all the scratches. if the scratches is to deep u may have to repaint.

if the scratches are so deep that you can see the primer...then you will have to repaint...

a quick way to see also....pass your finger nail against the scratches...and if they feelin deep...then it gotta repaint

Thanks for all the comments, got the price reduced by $3k, however I've asked knowledgeable people to accompany me on Sunday to view the car to determine how much work is required.

The scratches I passed my hands on, I couldn't feel any grooves, first I thought was dust, cause how fine the marks were.
