Why would the Prime Minister investigate himself?

Postby Strauss » April 7th, 2010, 10:23 am

So after Rowley made drama in parliament, it took well over a year for Manning to set up a Commission of Inquiry. Then months after before they could sit and get down to business.

All the while the PM has been parading with UDECOTT elites all over the country and in the media, religiously defending them with help of his ministers. Going so far as to blatantly lie at press conferences over the past few years about matters, OR... saying that information cannot be revealed because of interests of national security and the likes.

Then during said commission, a criminal investigation into the Big Cheese is launched yet projects continue with the prime minister still supporting all the way.

When the report is finally handed to the President. Guess what? It must be turned over to the same said Prime Minister involved so closely Calder Hart.

What
Utter
Bullsh¡t

Why would the Prime Minister, who took so long to set up a CoI, having constant dealings Calder Hart as to talk to him right before he let him leave freely... why would the Prime Ministers allow any serious investigation into himself?

Who is going to take the fall for this one?

all the info is now in public domian, its really for the ppl to decide in the coming election, if the PNM is defeated (which looks more likely every day) then they will hopefully be brought to justice (if manning doesn't disappear to africa somewhere first)..

relax and exercise your right to vote and make a change

evo-STI-k,

Do you really thing the attorney general will betray his Prime Minister by implicating him in UDeCOTT affairs?

Calder Hart and Manning have their thing going.
People complain.
The Prime Ministers allows set up of CoI
President set it up
Commission investigates
Commission gives report to President
President passes it to Prime Minister
Prime Minister passes it to his Attorney General to investigate.

How is this not a conflict of interest?

Not referring to info in the report.

But any possible investigations in the future.

What a wonderful system we have in place.

The President is the one who should have stepped in at the beginning, told Manning to step aside and let there be an immediate investigations since having the Prime Mister anywhere near is a conflict of interest.

The Commissioner of Police should have gotten off his ass at the start. But why would he? It's Manning who put him here. The C.O.P. could not even stop an illegal demonstration last no confidence motion.

What really does the President in this country do besides party his grass off? Where is the Head of State? Surely even if he is neutered by the constitution, he can get the ball rolling on something. But wait... how did he get there? Ahh right...

The Attorney General? Minister of Finance? Energy? Oh right - all on Manning's leash. They don't have press conferences, they have press instructions.

"The Prime Minister has spoken"

Actually it would depend on that issue of same-sex marriages.
If the UNC really does go ahead with this, we maybe in for a shocker...otherwise, it looks like Kamla is taking this one!

To top it off he tell he boy the AG to say (in the chamber) that he's vindicated and when he reach outside he saying that anyone mentioned in that issue could feel the full extent of the law. Like the PM was not mentioned in that part etc...

He would. Just listen to the PM and Patrick Manning speak. They are always making reference to what the other said or did.

Well,if that's all he did,he might get my vote ,at least it shows he might still be human..Unfortunately he's proving to be far more inept.

True but what is amazing that people would still vote him back in power rather than give someone else a chance, race politics would never done in trini
