Is construction ply more resilient especially for outside work compared to regular ply ? Have an older house that needs to have some ply applied to a window ? I know the construction ply has a bit more visual defects

No construction ply will mash up as soon as it get wet. Marine ply can take weather but is very expensive.

Have a project coming up and looking at a reasonable priced post hole digger.

What does the market have, and not sthil, that thing expensive. probably in the 4 to5K range and have market support for parts. Most likely it will be a 1 or 2 time use

Should be able to handle an 8" to 10" size hole.

Marine ply is ideal for your application but as mentioned its expensive. Try Marc One in Chaguaramas for the prices. In my previous job we used marine ply to build EAW speakerboxes and the held out well for years in wet conditions.

What kinda paint? House paint does not work as it's too thick.

Try to rent one of those Graco airless sprayers. They work great.

That will likely be a heavy duty slide due to the length.

Anything local will be expensive and poor quality. Bring it down if you can. Much better quality online.

Will look at it, to pick it up is a day, to use is about 2 days in the first instance and drop off is another day, that is 2K done right there, and then to do it a few weeks later. When I look at the total cost, it would be more cost efficient and convenient to just buy one.

If is one time use, would you consider renting?

I have a Chinese made one that I brought in years ago. 49cc I think. Works good
Cost about 2000

But when I had to dig 100 post hole in hard ground last year I rent a stihl for $500
Major difference in power and efficiency

I have about the same thing to do plus some others over a period of time.

For me is a matter of time and convenience, from where I live, the logistics of getting a rental becomes costly.

Just looking for the best fit. I saw the Total brand for just under 2.5k, 52cc, 1.6KW looking to see what others are available on the market.

the good thing with the total is the warranty, once you prove you didnt damage it

most of those tool rental companies deliver for free depending on location

my personal advice would be that if you know you have a very big batch of holes to dig, 100 plus in one day

rent the stihl and hire two labourers and let them dig it all out in one day

The plan is to get two labors to do the work. When I come off work, i should get some time to assess the project and make a final determination.
