Yes, windows only. Budget is less than TT$10,000. Usage will be basic (browsing, office, Youtube) most times with some occasional photo and video editing. No gaming intended but if I did install some game, I would be fine with the least demanding game settings.

I make sure to buy devices with both type a and c where possible but type a is still far more popular.

Thanks. I'm trying to avoid adapters and hubs as much as I can. Currently, I have a few devices that are either type A or has a USB-C to USB-A cable but I was wondering what others needs are when it comes to USB-C ports. Maybe others have newer devices that came with USB-C dongles? So far I've got 3 USB-C devices (phones & tablet) but they all came with USB-C to USB-A cables.

I was going to say the same. MacBook Air. Anything windows software needed could run in parallels.

Tho 10k is a hefty price tag, I would still take that money to apple for longevity of their laptops.

xps 13 and Lenovo X1 are excellent choices for that budget and are regularly on sale.

And for less than 1k usd you can get the Surface Laptop 5

Wait did you say you're using a CD-Rom? For Windows 10? 11?

Use the downloadable Windows media creation tool (just Bing it) with a 16GB USB drive. It will select the word size automatically based on a scan of your system.

Could be a 32-bit linux distro he's reinstalling from an old CD or iso... he didn't specifically say Windows.

Edit: this is going to send me into a 4hr distro. binge... [fires up vmware...]

Wait people still use VMWare? I thought it was only me. I assumed everyone was using Azure to create their VMs in seconds rather than creating a VM and installing an OS from scratch.

hi have a quick question, since i both my ultra wide monitor when i play fifa if the game stays on for ore than 20 minutes the game crashes. within trial and error i notice that when i removed one of my side panels the crashes does not happen. my assumption is that it receiving more air flow within the system. so do u think added some more fans could solve the panel once i replace the side panel

Depends on the fan orientations, as having fans for fan sake could be useless if not flipped in the correct direction. Intake fans on the front by the I/O panel as well as at the bottom of the case where the power supply would be, and exhaust fans at the top and back of the case.

If you have a tower cpu cooler, it is best to put the fan in a push orientation.

current orientation are

120mm intake at the front and top

120mm out at the back and top

had a120 on the side panel that i remove but was making noise so disconnected , that panel can take 2 additonnal 120 so i can do and in and an out?

thanks again

dont mix intake and exhaust at the top, put both as exhaust instead. Better to have a negative pressure system than one with a turbulent flow inside

Alright
As mentioned before, don't have two fans doing intake and exhaust side by side at the top of the case.
My advice would be to place an intake fan on the side panel in the lower position and remove the unused fan; it is going to get dirty there though.
Have the top exhaust fan placed closer to the back of the case, (or you can try two exhaust fans at the top and none on the side panel)
Leave the front intake and rear exhaust.

I do have a similar version of this case, except mine has the 3.5mm drive cage extended down to the bottom of the case which obstructs the airflow from the front intake.
I currently have an intake at the front and the lower side panel (120mm)
One exhaust at the back (120mm) and i have my CPU tower cooler pointed to exhaust upwards; not entirely by choice as that is one of the two mirrored positions that the mounting mechanism would work...and heat rises :)

If you also have the opportunity...remove as much dust as possible from the heatsinks, fan blades and fan grilles

32bit processors haven't been on the market for 20 years.

Chances are every CPU being used is a 64bit processor.
