Should probably start by looking at the compatibility/requirements of the engine management computer that you are interested in. Most should have USB at this point but I can't say for sure

Generic specs would be
8gb or more memory
At least a 256 gb SSD
Probably a keyboard with a numpad to make number entry easier into tables.

i use a entry level asus with a haltech elite 750, 256SSD, 8gb of ram and a 2 core 4 thread processor, as well as another tuning software, they work pretty good, SSD is a must. these software isnt always the buttery smooth and randomly glitches but a decent computer would be a good start.

my take, get something with a great battery life, this is always my enemy, yes full keyboard as he said because most times it does be you alone driving and tuning so its a great help. i started out using a Backlit keyboard recently and thats a good plus for darker areas, but eventually muscle memory would allow you to not need this.

Usb ports does get slack eventually because the ports does always be bouncing and knocking all around, not a quick process by any means.

i have one of these with a extra stick of 4gb ram. decent for the price.

PS5 teardown is out and it's impressive!

- Removable side panels for awesome custom console covers.
- Dust traps
- liquid metal conductive paste
- the thing is mostly heatsinks and fans, all reports say even after hours it's silent.
And more!

AMD RX 6000
Borderlands 3 running at 4K resolution at over 60fps at “Badass Quality,” along with benchmarks for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare (88fps for 4K gameplay at ultra settings) and Gears 5 (73fps for 4K gameplay at ultra settings)

The new RX 6000 GPUs are a big deal for AMD: not only do they mark the company’s most powerful graphics cards yet, but they will also see the debut of the company’s next-generation RDNA 2 graphics architecture. RDNA 2 isn’t just powering the new desktop PC GPUs; it’s also the basis for the custom GPUs in both the Xbox Series X / S and the PlayStation 5.

The video compression and decoding at lower bitrates with the same high quality image is the most impressive to me. And the most practical application for the real world right now. I always imagined that one day we would be able to stream 4K more efficiently over low bandwidth like 2G. Imagine the possibilities when phones will be capable of the current video processing power of a RTX 3080 and connected cloud 5G central processing. Holograms!

It's AI compression basically this is their methodology at a high-level:

1- Super resolution: Conversion from 360p to 720p

2- Autoframe: focus on key component in video

3- Live background change

4- Denoising: remove background noise

5- Live translation/transcription

6- Face compression: Only send facial features across instead of full frame data

7- Face alignment

some where i read that the rtx cards have the processing power to be able to crack passwords... that face realignment thing showing how powerful that software and hardware is... that is frighting amount of correct guess work going on there.

that denoising is like ray tracing for sound, and then eliminating it.

Windows 10’s October 2020 Update, also known as the 20H2 update, is here. This update is focused on bug and performance fixes, but it has some larger changes—like the removal of the System Control Panel.

To install the update the official way, head to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update. Click “Check for Updates.” If the update is available for your PC, you’ll see “Feature update to Windows 10, version 20H2” here. Click “Download and install” to get it. If the update isn’t available for your PC, that suggests Microsoft isn’t confident it will perform well on your PC’s hardware yet.

Huge fan of AMD but the lack of CUDA support or a CUDA alternative will keep many from jumping ship.

Or they might be like me, get an AMD next gen console for games and Nvidia GPU with AMD CPU for work.

I got the Zotac today and set it up with the 16 GB ram and ssd.

Boot time is fast and drivers all work. Neat lil footprint as well. Hardware easy to install and windows 10 install was smooth.

Landed cost for the PC was US$24. No taxes. Shipped with Aeropost. Got it delivered to skybox last Wednesday and received items in hand today.

So the Zotac, ram, ssd, webcam and Logitech wireless keyboard/mouse cost me US$635. Landed cost for those items which came in 4 packages was US$62. Total Landed cost for the PC TT$4,732. Not bad at all as similarly spec'd name brand systems in small or mini form factors were > the US$635, primarily because of the size of ram I wanted.

I have to buy two monitors now. Any ideas where I can get two Full HD monitors, possibly touch screen, to purchase locally? I don't want to bring in thru skybox as I received a cracked screen TV twice already (once with skybox, the other with sea freight when a friend sent one for me), and don't want the headache of this again.

Good link there man. Thanks again...

You can use a 43" 4K TV with Chroma 4.4.4 subsampling for a monitor. Not any regular 4K spec, has to be 4.4.4, not 4.2.2. The link above has tested 4K TVs.

A 4K monitor would be the best, but pricey option locally. I've seen some selling locally and they're not cheap, and more for gaming and photoshop/video editing. I wouldn't spend money on a 4K monitor for my purposes. And i doubt you getting 4k touch screen. The Zotac has a displayport for HD monitors, and the Wizz has the cable for it. And run the 2nd monitor on the HDMI. Or you can use the HDMI output for audio to a dedicated 5.1/7.1 decoder. You can get 1080p monitors at Wizz too, check their website. I have one and i do notice the difference in YouTube 1080p vs 4K. I'm seeing Acer 32" and 27". But personally, i will choose a 43" 4K TV Chroma 4.4.4 for my next PC. I'm not a gamer, so it would work for me.

What would be the best card for a 1080p 144Hz monitor setup to use max settings and future proof for a while? Is the RTX 3070 good for this or overkill? Do you think whatever might replace the 1660ti's price range (about $275 USD) after the 3000 series settles would likely to be suitable for that, and could be expected to be out around Feb 2021 (a year after the 1660 Ti release)?

Thanks.

Can't go wrong with a 3070 for your res and frame rate target. It is not overkill. You'll want to make sure your cpu is up to scratch. You'll want the highest clocking chip you can find, 5ghz and up. 6 cores would be fine for a bit of future proofing.

You probably won't get a 3070 in your hand until maybe the second quarter of 2021 at the earliest.

Thanks. For a CPU that matches this, could an i5 work or would that be underpowered and look at i7 or above (and the AMD equivalents)?

An i5 close to 5ghz certainly won't be underpowered, however at that res, you'll be leaving a little bit of the 3070 power untapped, but by no means will the experience be bad.

Make sure you have a good power supply for that RTX 3070

Nvidia is recommending a 650W power supply for the RTX 3070, compared to the 550W recommendation for the RTX 2070.
