Macaroni pie, callaloo, baked chicken and coleslaw, wash that down with mauby. Have 2 coconut bake in the oven, so bake and cheese with a cup of tea shortly

ent you could steam rice in a pot juss so with a lid?
It's all about the water ratio. Saw this in a Gordon Ramsay video. As well as Alton Brown.
Boiling rice is excess water and draining. Steaming rice in a pot is a 2:1 (evaporation) water to rice ratio on very low heat and a tight lid. You can sous vide rice perfectly too with a 1¼:1 ratio.

Been cooking rice this way in a heavy lid cast iron Le Creuset and it always is perfect. 3-star Restaurant technique too with the butter, sometimes a bay leaf, sometimes a few cracked cardamom pods for basmati.

yeah but need to make sure temp not high enough to scorch

rice coolers use a thermal switch which detect when the temp reached steam temp and doesn’t let it run away so all the rice cooks evenly
