Nothing isn't on sale that isn't already marked up before Black Friday or there wasn't a huge demand for them and this "sale" is a way of finally getting rid of them.

Well thats the con of black friday, you are buying things at a perceived lower value, the only real black Friday sales are the ones in store in the US but due to covid those have been suspended

Yeah, so a couple yrs ago, I signed up for a pricemart branded RBL visa platinum card.

It promised 4% cash back at pricesmart and 1% elsewhere.
Told myself that 4% cashback would more than cover the cost of annual renewals - which it has been doing - along with covering the cost of the credit card renewal.

This year's Pricesmart black Friday "sale" the cash back was 10% !!.

You better believe I took full advantage of it! But I only bought basics. I bought a year's worth of soap, detergent, dishwashing liquid, toilet paper etc. And a couple months worth of stuff like butter sugar etc.

I ALWAYS pay my credit card in full and on time so this is a Win Win Win...

Did you sign up at the bank for that card or in pricesmart? I signed up for it in pricesmart awhile ago, but neither them nor the bank ever got in touch with me afterwards.

Amazon is a waste, selling things same prices as before Black Friday sales and notorious for markups before markdown during Black Friday sales too. Waste of time.

Yup
You have to be patient, and you might get lucky
I saw a laptop on Amazon go from $680 to $560 for a few hrs Thursday night... sold out, and then the scalpers started selling it for $799 Fri, Sat, Sun. Because it was a 'Top Selling' device at $680, Amazon continued to list it as 'Top Selling' at the scalped $799 price. Sure they made a killing. It's back down to its $680 price now. Feel sorry for the poor sods who got fooled and bought the thing for $120 more during "BFCM" madness.

highly suspect the similar stuff happens down here.

Min. Consumer Affairs should be looking into that.

The local retailer probably had to source forex and ship abs didn’t get the item necessarily at the same price . What does the ombudsman abs consumer affairs have to do with his price if the quality of the item is normal and the buyer isn’t seeking a warranty issues ?

i think he talking about people who raise the prices and then announce a sale

like francis fashions who does raise prices of sneakers to $2000 a week before sale and then mark it down to $1000 and $500 with their gift cards lol

was $2000 now $500!

No idea how people buy on amazon. Always pricey options compared to ebay
