So that's why they were washing down the highway in that area. It was also the reason why I had this uneasy disconnected feeling driving through it.

We should be grateful. The EMR still better than the south highway after Freeport.

I cannot comprehend why Coosal's are now repaving the entire highway from UWI to Curepe Junction including the shoulder. It was the left lane needed resurfacing, the rest of the highway was perfect.

Danny's Enterprises Company Limited.

That whole tendering process was farcical. From the outset, Danny's Enterprises Company Limited was the favoured tenderer based on the specified pavement re-construction method.

Anyone mentioned about the "new" turn off at Bejucal Rd./Munroe Rd.? Man that was horrendously done. Even the patchwork couldn't seal the imperfect grade below the asphalt it seems. Rory, yuh pass there yet?

Have to give credit where credit is due.

They fixed quite a bit of roads and some bad spots that were that way years upon years now.

^they've done alot in terms of infrastructure.

Road works at the intersection of O'meara and Churchill Roosevelt highway. Highway has been milled and should be repaved soon

They recently finished the intersection at Tumpuna Road, milled and paved.

Quality is piss poor though, whats the sense of repaving and its worse than the original

If their was a global measurement of bitumen used versus total kilos of road in a country, we would probably be number 1.
The amount of 'redos' and 'premature failures' is absolutely ridiculous.
The damned things is, we not sure that the cost of many poor jobs is being borne by tax payer or contractor during warranty period.
If the latter applies, then the question becomes ...How it is the same people continue to win new jobs?
Having had experience with asphalt/black-top compounds, I observe use of compounds where the % of bitumen to aggregate etc. is so disproportionate high that the final surface is dangerously slippery especially when wet (look for a dark polish shine) and remains very elastic (which facilitates surface rolling especially with stop/go traffic burden).
The observation made in the last paragraph in my opinion would account for many fatal accidents where drivers (if they survived), wouldn't have a clue about why their vehicle became uncontrollable.
Roadway paving is very serious business in the developed world and quality testing of black top compounds before application is a standard. This means quality assurance officers taking samples to determine acceptability of materials day or nite (total vigilance).
