I have long suspected that the source of my GERD was apparently irreconcilable mental issues and the stress, anguish and despair that is produced as a result. But so long as this inner turmoil is not resolved then the physiological manifestation of this inner turmoil i.e. GERD will also be unresolved.
I guess it is true that what you know really could kill you.

Could very well be true. if stress is not handled well, or stress levels are to significant, the body can start acting out and the person can start manifesting real symptoms, sometimes many, that all seem unrelated. And i'm sure, worrying about, what the hell is going on with your body, is just adding to the stress level. so, try to avoid as much stress as you possibly can, i know that isn't always easy, but at least you have a good excuse to hit them, when a family member, or friend starts stressing you out. ...you will recover bro......ress up and give it time.

Damien, based on this thread which was initiated since about May I really am surprised that you are still suffering out there and not on a resolution program.
Again I suggest you get your GP provide you with a proper referral (including preliminary assessment) to a ortho specialist (suggest Dr David Toby,POS).
You need to get on a serious program. If tingling and numbness of extremities is evident the level of damage requires urgent attention.
You will most definitely require a MRI and without this everybody are simply guessing.

Bro I am fed up of docs, I spent a fortune doing all different kind of test and medication and still no one could properly diagnose the problem, however since the creation of this thread I am much better taking no medication whatsoever, some days bad some days good more in the latter though.

Dr. Spann is that you?

But that said, spoke to one of his patients recently. Seems like a good bet for the OP.

I also recommend Dr. Ramcharan from Southern Medical.

have you gone to a reputable physiotherapist? you could try and see if you get some pain relief from that mean while looking at surgery for the long term.
Theres also Needling or acnupuncture which could aldo be alternatives to surgery.

So try this...like u I went to a million docs for years, none could help. My AUNT diagnosed me. She was going blind almost died... B12 deficiency.

Docs here only look for it if you have abnormal blood work. Yours would be normal like ours since they never checked for it. B12 deficiency is very common.

GERD, try some baking soda in water morning and night...works like a charm. Hope it works for you also
PPI makes B12 deficiency worse because it drains the body from B12. Its call nutrient depletion which is caused by a lot of drugs.
Continuous B12 deficiency causes degeneration of the spinal cord. MRI with contrast is needed to show damage and most doctors here are unaware of the condition. Old imaging may not show it depending on the sensitivity of the machine. Since the docs here don't know of the condition, you have to send the scans abroad to be read.

You can try Bcomplex orally but if your body cannot aborb though the stomach, then you need IM (injections)

First, go to the doc and request a B12 Serum Level test. If it comes back low, you know what your problem is. IF it does not, then you have to do a HCY, MMA, B12 Active test. The last is not available here, one of the first is available here, the other is a shipping test (available abroad). Together they help guesstimate a B12 deficiency. There is no real way to tell unless u respond to the treatment.

Only Germany has a hair follicle test which tells what all the vitamins / minerals you're deficient in. If B12 is in the blood, docs assume you're not deficit but b12 and other nutrients need to be in the cells / tissues! Only one doc i went to who worked in England was aware of this.

Only a Hemotologist and the British trained doc knew SACD as a result of B12 deficiency. Some neurologist are aware of the condition but can't diagnose, treat it. Email me, I'll give u the research or u can do it urself.

So first step, do the b12 serum test, if you have the cash you can do the other tests or just start taking the b12 tablets/ shots. It take 3-6 months to recover from a deficiency. Up to 1 year when the damage reaches the spine. Good luck...

Anyone had any luck with Dr. Spann???
