Some youtuber said, if they get enough money they could do 5 movies, but they couod stop after the third, np, if it doesn't capture appeal and still close off the story.DMan7 wrote:Shouldn't it make more sense that the water Na'vi is blue instead of green? And the forest Na'vi is green instead?
Either way I'm wondering if Cameron is going to go all the elements with the Na'vi, Water, Air, Fire and Earth?

They have funds for the third, but if it doesn't perform well, the story coudl wrap with that.shake d livin wake d dead wrote:sMASH wrote:Some youtuber said, if they get enough money they could do 5 movies, but they couod stop after the third, np, if it doesn't capture appeal and still close off the story.DMan7 wrote:Shouldn't it make more sense that the water Na'vi is blue instead of green? maj. tom wrote:Avatar is just a retelling of the true 1990 epic "Dances with Wolves" with Kevin Costner. It tells an experience of a US Civil War Union soldier being wounded so badly and close to death, but miraculously survived a battle and got posted to the remote frontier. The story progresses into a white outsider joining the Lakota Amerindian tribe and eventually pledging complete loyalty to them after being betrayed by Union soldiers. Sounds similar to the Avatar story? The Director's Extended Cut is just under 4 hours of masterpiece cinematography.
It was an original script by Michael Blake in 1986 turned into a novel and then Costner bought the movie rights. If you haven't ever see it, go watch that film. Avatar stuns the audience with CGI, but the story is not original. Dances with Wolves was so good that it was nominated for 12 categories for the Academy Awards in 1991 and won in 8. In total it won 38 film awards that year. Dances with Wolves. Go (re)watch it and then compare it to Avatar.
