1. book in advance. earlier = better. forget those last minute deal myths.
2. try for tuesdays or wednesdays.
3. book off-peak flights. ie - avoid the 9 to 5 business traveler high demand.
4. try different airports (that are close to you destination). eg - JFK and LGA prices often differ.

5. different airlines or non-direct flights can also help u save. but can be impractical for us since we may not have that liberty from T&T

But we dont fly to many airports in the US so the option is limited.

Miami International- CAL/ AA
Orlando- CAL
Houston- UAL
JFK- CAL/ AA
EWR- CO

We did have flights to Atlanta with Delta but they stopped flying. Not sure bout the other options but the most you could expect to save is maybe 100usd max.

yes certain days the prices are more (Monday and Fridaynormally most expensive) . Go to the airline webpage and try booking, the site will give you the price for the entire week so you can make your choice.
