$575k for a brand new 8 year old Prado, with 79,000 km. Can someone explain the 'director driven' tag? Fine, owner driven is probably to say that it wasn't rented out so it's less likely to have been abused.

Is it that a prospective buyer sees director driven and thinks 'there's no way a person as esteemed as a company director would rough up their vehicle, and they're loaded so they splurge on maintenance'.. :?

Probably the Prado is registered on the company name, so the certified copy may indicate this. The Director probably purchased the asset from the company at depreciated book value and thus wishes to resell. No transfer tax on these either. That's just my speculation.

Fair point..I thought it carried a similar connotation to the infamous 'lady driven'

Saw someone post a PCT fortuner for $300K. I really don’t understand the depreciation value on some of these Toyota vehicle. Who in their right mind gonna spend that kinda money for a Toyota over 10years old

It's not too bad considering the work done to the car. Since it has the unbreakable seals, the engine most likely has been refreshed like most rotary men do on the older projects. Saw a 1st gen RX7 go for $250k recently

suppose the person /driver died and it park up since then under the house covered and who every get the estate from foreign and now decide to sell and the car in perfect condition? i just saying as i dont know the seller but i dad buy a 280c in 1987 for $14000 and if i get one today original that park up under somebody house covered and in prefect condition i would pay probably a $50/$60000 for it.

If that hypothetically were to happen, then every piece of rubber on the car would be dry rot and have to get replaced.

Let's agree to disagree. That logic would/should only apply to rare and/or collectors items, which would appreciate over time. Not your everyday, run-of-the-mill Almera.

I thought it was a mistake too, so I usually give the seller the benefit of the doubt and ask. See below.

The second theory makes a lot more sense now. :?

Apparently it's a one owner car with 55,000 km and it's all original but $125k is steep

I saw one for 45k recently. Most of the time they're just clean and have small bolt on parts. A clean example is always nice to see and better yet to own but the price some people ask is ridiculous for a late 90s Nissan.

I actually decided to keep my OEM TEV for this reason...not going to sell it for 40k or even 42, 45k, will keep and enjoy it.
