West Indies need to play a spinner and have him bowl his share of the overs else they'll continue to accumulate fines and lose test championship points for slow over rates. ICC making sure they can't go back to the days of 4 fast bowlers.trent wrote:Dizzy28 wrote:^ To be honest that 1st Test XI is as good an XI as they can muster. Who realistically deserves a drop and who deserves a pick from what remains?
I see England changed two fast bowlers - Wood and Overton out and Mahmood and Fisher in.
I really thought Phillip would've been given a run given the good form he's in and the fact that they're playing in Barbados ( usually quick wicket), also Permaul was ineffective in the last game.
Batting also looks suspect with the inconsistent Blackwood and Brooks but Mayers is the only other option. Reifer who made a 100 in the warmup is not in the squad. Mayers and him can also provide a medium pace option.

England 101/8 (Extras 20) - Effectively 8/8
Karl Mayers - 5/9
Thank you Grenada for preparing a TRUE cricket pitch. Not like T&T, Barbados and Jamaica and Guyana who have a set of "drop-in" pitches.
