Just clicked on cricinfo to see there is a game going on in the UAE - Dubai Capitals vs Abu Dhabi Knight Riders

Knight Riders bowlers used so far have been Rampaul, Akeal Hosein, Dre Russ, Ali Khan and Sunil Narine.

That's basically TKR's bowling!!

Thanks for the reminder that ILT20 start today. With so much international players and 3 of the 6 teams having IPL links, I feel the ILT20 could be like a mini IPL. I wonder about attendance though. Hope they get some decent numbers.

If ILT20 is a mini IPL then what is the South African T20 that is currently ongoing?

The teams in South Africa are Durban Super Giants, Joburg SuperKings, MI Cape Town, Paarl Royals, Pretoria Capitals and Sunrisers Eastern Cape. Every team is an offshoot of an IPL team.

Wow! Didn't know that all 6 SA20 teams had IPL owners. I paid more attention to the ILT20 as I thought there were more West Indian players in the ILT20.

Finally the answer to a question I always had....what fitness test does Cornwall do to be on WI team?
The answer apparently is one that doesn't require running
If it sounds like Cornwall can do anything, he can't. His knee problems mean he is not able to do the regular fitness test required of West Indian players: the yo-yo, which involves running multiple shuttles at increasing speed between markers placed 20 metres apart. Instead, his assessment "is cardio on the bike - I have to do a certain amount of time on the bike".

No wonder Hetmeyer so messed up. He is constantly failed on fitness and dropped but the Cornwall gets a bligh.

ICC loses around $2.5 million in phishing scam
The governing body reported the matter to law-enforcement agencies in the USA and an investigation is underway

Nagraj Gollapudi

The ICC has become a victim of a cyber crime involving a substantial sum of money - about US$ 2.5 million - being wire transferred. While the exact sum involved has not been confirmed, ESPNcricinfo has learned that the alleged scam originated in the USA and happened in 2022.

The route used by fraudsters to commit the financial scam was Business E-mail Compromise (BEC), also known as e-mail account compromise, which the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) describes as "one of the most financially damaging online crimes".

The ICC is tight-lipped about the incident because it has reported the suspected fraud to law-enforcement agencies in the USA and an investigation is underway. It is learned that the ICC Board was updated about the incident last year.

It is not yet known what route exactly the fraudsters took to get the money transferred from the ICC account - whether they had got in touch directly with someone at the head office in Dubai, or had targeted an ICC vendor or consultant. It is also not confirmed whether the transaction was done in one single payment or there were multiple wire transfers.

What is a BEC scam?
A BEC scam is a form of phishing where companies and individuals are tricked and convinced into making wire transfers. The FBI, in a Congressional Report (submitted to the US government) last November, stated that its Internet Crime Control Center had received BEC-related claims worth more than $2.4 billion in 2021.

In the report, the FBI stated BEC scams usually involve: "spoofing of a legitimate, known e-mail address or the use of the a nearly identical address to appear as someone known to or trusted by the victim. BEC scams are initiated when a victim receives false wire instruction from a criminal attempting to redirect legitimate payments to a bank account controlled by fraudsters."

The BEC scam, the FBI report said, is evolving fast as the criminals become more "sophisticated". "The scam has progressed from spoofed e-mails purportedly from chief executive officers requesting wire payments to fraudulent locations, to impersonation of vendor e-mails; spoofed lawyer e-mail accounts; diversion of payroll funds; the targeting of the real estate sector; and fraudulent requests for large amounts of gift cards."

I see that QPCC Trinidad and Tobago team bowlers are getting some serious licks from Windward Islands Volcanoes.

Darren Bravo has no cricketing brain or strategy. Only bowled pacers for about 3 overs and since then - 2nd Innings Volcanoes - 363/3.

My bad: Some rain interrupted play for almost 2 hours

Currently - Day 1, 1st Test: WI -112 / 0 (51 overs) and into the final session. Braithwaite and Chanders both have 55 n.o.

Looks like inspection is due soon to resume play today, I hope both Braffit and Chanders make 100 each.

Well done to Brathwaite and Young Chanderpaul - both made centuries and Chanders, his maiden test century in his 3rd test match.

Unbroken 221 opening partnership so far.

True. They are around but it is whether they will be given the chance. Chanders had to wait until he was 26 years old to debut for WI.

His father debuted at 19 years old. WI needs players to debut at 19 years old that is quality batsmen and bowlers so they have something to build for the future.

That's bad luck. COVID meant he played no cricket for 2 years. Hard to have broken into the team without FC cricket.

Thanks. Congrats to the skipper as well as the young man on his ton, let's not forget he only got his chance because John Campbell was banned.

I disagree that he should have debuted at 19 though.... his first class record shows he was not good enough to play test cricket at that age. He might have succeeded like his father but he also could've ended up like Ganga. Let's appreciate the fact that he's playing now and hope he keeps making runs for a long time.
