13 Dead St. Lucia Accident

The Caribbean Media Corporation is reporting that 13 persons are dead following an accident in St Lucia last night.

CMC said that a bus carrying mourners from a funeral plunged into the sea at Mount Sion, in Choiseul.

Police and fire officials at the scene said that there was only one survivor. It was the worst accident in the history of the island.

They said bodies of the accident victims were spread out on the beach. The accident occurred at around 8. pm

This is tragic, any way you want to look at it, buses and cliffs hummm. But that's a huge number for an accident in any of our islands .

One friend told me that their minibus drivers driving style is similar to our north south taxi drivers , while there i did find them to be doing a bit of spirited driving but .................... RIP

Trinidad & Tobago is the only english speaking country that puts 12 passengers in a 12 seater bus. I hope they wasnt overloaded.

i know that bend, i drove there already .....the road is very nice around there , you can be speeding and not know it ....there were no street lights when i was there, and at night it is almost impossible to predict that bend , i was driving extremely slow for a mile before because i knew it was coming up ....If you unfamiliar and its night you could be cruising one min and in the sea the next because thats how the approach is , and after the road theres gravel then sand ......u skating all the way to the sea....

There's a bend similar to this in Tobago and my family ran off the road and was near ending up into the sea just a few weeks ago. The people who helped pulled the car out said is not the first time that happened there. Happens regular. I can imagine.
