Brown-banded Watersnake (Helicops angulatus)
The venom of this species has proteolytic (causing protein breakdown) and neurotoxic (acting on the nervous system) components. Humans who have been bitten present local pain as well as changes in coagulation time. Accidents involving the Brown-banded Watersnakes are frequent in children and adults in some rural areas.
Didn't I post one of these some time ago? Yea, no, maybe?maj. tom wrote:Wait, it have what now in the river?!Brown-banded Watersnake (Helicops angulatus)

Sorry I did. But he was under some leaf litter when I was hunting snails and took me by surprise. My heel was faster. Kicked him into the lot next door. Was extremely black. Not sure what other snakes are that colour locally.
rollingstock wrote:Nah not a machet. Accustom to those. After I stamped him. He was so pretty . Like jet black.
