Yeah that looked more like a machete/racer type than tree boa/ cascab..bounced up some very big ones many times on the North Coast and going through Paria etc, man do they move, very aware and very reactive....colors range from very light yellow to a bit darker brown, family to Tigre ...

Wait, it have what now in the river?!

Brown-banded Watersnake (Helicops angulatus)
The venom of this species has proteolytic (causing protein breakdown) and neurotoxic (acting on the nervous system) components. Humans who have been bitten present local pain as well as changes in coagulation time. Accidents involving the Brown-banded Watersnakes are frequent in children and adults in some rural areas.

Think I just killed a black cribo in the backyard.
Sorry I did. But he was under some leaf litter when I was hunting snails and took me by surprise. My heel was faster. Kicked him into the lot next door. Was extremely black. Not sure what other snakes are that colour locally.

You see any white/yellow on the belly? If so, could have been a machet.
We all make mistakes bro, it happens.

Probably cribo.

I looking for a live bushmaster awhile now, preferably a small specimen, no bigger than 24"
Making a south run for some days next week. I can only hope for a safe success.

Cribo is a king snake right? So it probably have some other snakes hiding in your yard that it was hunting down.

Yeah it has a few cat eyed snakes. I don't kill them. I see them roaming in the night. They like to eat the small toads.

3'×4'×8' plexiglass enclosure. That plenty big for it for now, providing I catch one.
