Most species on that side, all the interesting ones that you dont see everywhere.. checker belly etc..stupid neighbor killed a nice checker belly that we were observing in our retaining wall and bougainvillea for months,he lived in a weephole and would come out in the evenings when the kids played in the yard and we would go under the bougainvillea and look up at him,no panic nothing he just chilled there .

There were also many big beetles living there so he had a good food supply, and apparently he would go in the neighbors yard above and he saw him one day and killed him,'christian' people eh..steups..

And I gathered after that it's a rare snake..

We leave snake be,just catch and release interesting ones and take note of the species .there's a bank right opposite the garbage area that always has baby macajuels and some fat rainbow boas, the rainbows are very aggressive they hiss and strike like the real thing..

Caught many corals and false corals in the past, the false corals with the red head are really cool snakes they dont even strike and like to wrap around your hand and fingers, they'll make good pets...we just put them back and keep observing them and they always in the same spots, they're not afraid of us..

Snakes are cool.

eitech wrote:Came across three rat snakes in the space of a month entering my yard. All were about a foot long. That was my first, second and third time encountering snakes personally and all got the same reaction and end treatment. I living here two years and they jus showed up. I dont see any rats only frogs.

Has a glenco resident that like snakes, keeps some rubber ones around.

I know one guy that is afraid of them. He was relaxing by the pool so we put the snake on the chair.

Plenty red toe tarantulas in Glencoe too, caught 6 or 8 in one evening in and around the house one july a couple years ago, this is their time of year actually..mating season..

Was terrified the first time when we just got the house and had our first encounter, but honestly they have real personality and are evey easy to tame and handle, my son handles them and let them walk on his hand and arm ,not me !!

They are probably one of my least concerning spiders really...they easy to coax into containers and out of the house etc.. its all experience though.

Killed a really big one by accident trying to trap it already, plenty clear liquid/blood, a lot!! Plenty clean up..

Never made that mistake again..

Oh having said all that we never saw a cockroach rat or mouse in that house in all the years, perfect example of how nature can work for you with all the critters around..

Even mountain crab in the yard when rain fall, and iguana by the grap and babies all over the place..

Plenty snake food..

A man in Australia got a shock when he returned home to find two snakes had crashed through his ceiling and were slithering around his Queensland house.
David Tate found one snake in his bedroom and another in the living room on Monday. They weighed 22kg (3.4 stone) between them.
Snake catcher Steven Brown said they were of "exceptional size".
It's thought the two male snakes could have been fighting over a female snake which has not yet been located.
The carpet pythons measured 2.8m (9.1 feet) and 2.5m long.

Mr Tait said he had previously seen snakes basking in the sun on his roof.
"When I came back...there was a large slab [of ceiling] on the kitchen table," he told The Courier-Mail.

After seeing the state of his ceiling, he looked around and eventually found the animals.
He called in a snake catcher and the ordeal was over "pretty quickly".
"I certainly didn't want to handle them," he said.

Teen hospitalized after snake bite to penis while on toilet
September 10, 2020 admin

NY POST – It tried to hiss-member him.

A Thai teen lived out every man’s worst nightmare after a snake sunk its fangs into his penis while he was on the john.

“I looked down and saw there was a snake hanging in the toilet,” Siraphop Masukarat, 18, told Viral Press. His near-serpent circumcision occurred Tuesday, approximately 12 miles north of Bangkok, after the reptile allegedly infiltrated the plumbing.

Masukarat recalls watching smartphone videos on the toilet when all of sudden he felt a searing pain in his nether region. The university student looked down to discover a nightmarish sight — a 4-foot python with its jaws clamped around the tip of his penis.

At that point, the horrified boy stood up with the snake still attached, and slammed the door on the reptile, causing it to release its grip. Masukarat then howled in terror and rushed out of the now blood-spattered bathroom with his pants around his ankles, whereupon the serpent slinked back into the toilet bowl.

Noticing her son’s distress, the teenager’s mother attempted to calm him down before emergency services rushed the poor soul to the hospital to have his mangled member repaired. Thankfully, doctors were able to stitch up Masukarat’s wound and sterilize it using an antibiotic wash.

”The doctor said my penis can be used as a normal soon,” gushed the grateful teen, who is currently recovering at the hospital.

As for the snake, handlers were able to bag the manhood-munching reptile using special equipment and release it safely back into the wild.

Despite the painful ordeal, Masukarat’s mother said she’s relieved that the snake was a non-venomous python and not a deadly cobra.

Nonetheless, she predicts that her son “will be scared every time he goes to toilet.”

Unfortunately, this isn’t the first time someone has been bitten by a snake while on the bowl. In January, a Thai woman had to be hospitalized after a snake sunk its fangs into her thigh while she was doing her business.

Looks that way. Can't say he right or wrong, looks like the snake was in the wrong place trying the wrong thing. Man spent his money to start with his animals, can't have other animals coming in for a free meal.
I eh go say he right, but if he didn't kill it, he would have had to go real far away to relocate it. And then there's the possibility the same snake could try to make a easy meal out of somebody else's animal in a new location, come like he dropping off he problem for somebody else to deal with. Because macajuel are not ambush hunters like some other snake species, they are active hunters. So they go follow a scent till they find what they think smelling like a meal.

it was a justified kill to protect home and livestock. And it would have returned even if relocated. Boas are roaming hunters within their territory and it smelled those rabbits.

yes, it's a legless lizard, and it's harmless to humans but important to the ecology. they eat insects and grubs and worms etc.
No reason to kill it, next time just pick it up and throw it in the bush.
