$ Million Cocaine Bust in Central

...cops move on house in late night raid

COCAINE worth millions of dollars was seized by police officers in Chaguanas last night.

The drug was packaged and ready for shipment, the Express was told. Police raided a house in Endeavour at around 10 p.m and found twelve packages contained in large buckets.

The drug bust came after three days of surveillance by police officers of the Chaguanas Robbery Squad and Criminal Investigation Department.

Police moved on the house after a tip-off that the drug was to be shipped last night. The drug was found hidden in bucket filled with gypsum joint compound. No arrests were made.
The Police Service also issued a news bulletin this morning to report on the seizure of 40 pounds of marijuana.

At around 4:30pm yesterday, a party of officers from the Arouca CID and Task Force under the supervision of Senior Supt David Abraham including Sgt Charles, Sgt Pitt, Cpl Williams and PC Modeste went to an abandoned house at 2nd Hill Kandahar Five Rivers Aroucqa where they found and seized approximately 40lbs of marijuana with a street value of approximately $150,000.

Three men were arrested.

You still surprised? No one is ever held when it involves large quantities of Coke. I also think that a lot of the guns found in "tip-offs" are planted there since the gun has too much "history" might as well let the police find it in a drain somewhere.

Yeah but if I was the TTPS head of PR i would have been embarassed to release that. U mean to say they surveil the house for 3 days and arrested noone...

drug lord didnt pay the TTPS Chief on time so he got back at them by busting their stock....it was a warning hence no arrests were made.

Earlier today that same article was headlined as a $100M cocaine bust.
Say $60K TTD for 1 kilogram of >90% cocaine in Trinidad. $60/gram. Maybe some more, but not as much as USA because transport is not as expensive from Venezuela.

Make 1 oz ($1700 TTD) into just a little more than 1 oz of crack. Cut each ounce into 8 pieces to get an "8-ball."
Sell an 8-ball to street dealer for $1200 TTD. Street dealer cuts eight-ball into 35 (1/10th gram) packs at $60-70 TTD (??? I don't know) each. One (0.1 g) rock of crack is a 10 minute high maybe, but the user feels like he can lift a Boeing 767 off the tarmac and leap to Spain for those 10 minutes. It's so addictive that the drug user always needs more at any cost.

So did they get about 170 Kg of uncut cocaine in those buckets, assessed at street value? That's a storage warehouse straight from the boat I would assume. Just assuming a lot in the above prices anyway, that's all.

Point to note is they would never tell the public if it's 30% or 90% cocaine.

Most of the time it's 30% which means absolutely nothing really in the bigger sphere of things.
