Folks, anyone know the present going rate for scrap iron? Have a lot of steel to sell.

depends on the type of iron or grade.the highest grades can go for around 4500 per ton( old train lines etc.)

^what you smoking?

depends on the grade,prices are per ton/

Grade A $1700-1800 most places
Grade B $1200
Grade C $1000
"D' rest $800-900ish (rotten iron,bogus,etc)

as for trinidad recyclers,you have to be a registered scrap iron dealer to sell with them.

yes 7.110kg x 850 = TT$6043.50 last time i checked thats just for calculation purposes and yea, its rusted iron. I dont sell but i know a place that sells

going to one of the big dealers is a good experience
to see the characters who pull up there
and the varying quality of material on sale
from rusted rotten to brand new like straight from the steel mill, lol

sheit! dat is rell money. I want to sell off a 323 front half shell, some doors and ting. All left over since i sell d car. A man buying steel pass dis morning an lookin to give $40 dollars for my old shocks and old transmission, i was like wtf? gimme a lil 200 nah, hoss. Still, dem car parts worth any decent amount or wa? :?

^no,they pay dog money for car parts.

Engines go between $60-90 (no i aint bullshitting)

car parts as in door panels and stuff go for $1200 a ton,last time i checked,you know how much car panels and stuff you gonna need to make up a ton right? A hell of alot if your wondering.

Don`t know about having to be a scrap iron dealer,I sold some about 2 month back to them,they needed id,a letter stating the source of the iro and some other documents,I got it from a foreign used parts place,sold $1860 worth of scrap iron.

allyuh know scrap dealer who does buy ole battery and old car parts onetime? things to get rid of in diego

oh, and do the scrap dealers buy cast iron?

stainless steel goes between 8-10 dollars per lb last i checked,i havent checked the prices for it in quiet some time.Not ever dealer bust stainless steel or carparts (body panels etc)

Real ting. Scrap van passed couple weeks ago. Sold them a bunch of engine brackets and a disassembled cast iron block.
Only got $75, but gawddamn this room got plenty more space now!
I bought a pizza.
