TWO suspected car thieves were shot and killed by police during a chase through Todd's Road Village Chaguanas today.

At around 9 p.m. on Tuesday, the men held up a man and his family at their home and drove away with a $150,000 Toyota Hilux.

At around 7 a.m. Central Division police, led by Superintendent Johnny Abraham, tracked the vehicle to Todd's Road Village and during a chase, the stolen vehicle crashed off the road. Police said there was an exchange of gunfire and the two suspected thieves were shot.

Police took the men to the Chaguanas District Health Facility where they were pronounced dead on arrival. Police have not yet released the identities of the deceased, but the Express learned that are from north Trinidad.

Just passed the car 1 of the bandits tried to escape in also....they ran off the road yes...the car is a company car...western scientifc....people no longer seeing working hard for things important na....they rather others work hard and they steal....this happened right by us...just yesterday was protesting...now this today...smh....sure the families would say either 1 lead one to do such and they were good boys and the police shoot and kill them without asking questions....i say kill they rasses....
