At the time, the mayor’s car was flashing blue lights and using a siren. The mayor’s car and the SUV were heading west on Ariapita Avenue when the first car allegedly broke the red light at the intersection. It crashed into Gonzales’ vehicle which was heading north along Carlos Street. Gonzales was visibly shaken when making a report with her attorney at the Woodbrook Police Station.



Immediately after the collision, Tim Kee was removed from the scene by a security detail in a black Chevy Captiva. Then the drivers went to the police station to give statements. Police are investigating. Yesterday, in a brief telephone interview, Tim Kee said all was well.
“Everything is fine. We were not injured in any way. There were no injuries,” Tim Kee said. Asked to confirm whether the vehicle he was in had, indeed, crossed the lights, he said he could not be sure, as he was looking through a report at the time.



“On any intersection when there is an accident, somebody would have crossed the lights, but I understood from witnesses that the other vehicle may have been attempting to overtake when the accident happened.”

Is his car considered and emergency vehicle......?.......

He should respect that law and wait at the lights like everyone else....

I highly doubt that the Mayor put on the lights on an official vehicle for himself without permission..........but is UML so stupidity is expected in comments

Why would any politician need police sirens and lights? Wasn't Partap charged for refusing a breathalyzer test? How does that equate to a Mayor's driver using sirens and lights to run a red light and causing an accident?
