Dewalt or Milwaukee?

So I looking to get a fairly reasonable mid heavy duty hammer drill that can handle concrete with ease. I see Bhagwansingh have a 1/2" Dewalt for a little over $1k and Price Smart have a 1/2" Milwaukee for $1k. I also see P Smart have a 5/8" Hitachi anyone bought it?

Which is better? Parts/repair facility, etc

This is like asking which is better, BMW or Mercedes Benz?

I think, although I could be wrong, Milwaukee has the better rep.

Bro if u going Milwaukee buy from Laughlin and Degannes u getting two years warranty on parts cah go wrong

Both are contractor grade brands. Better question is how much concrete you plan to use it on?

If its even fairly regularly on actual concrete and not brick/mortar then get a rotary hammer, you will be much less frustrated. Even the cheapest SDS will run circles around a regular hammer drill.

If for home use then whichever of the above you comfortable buying, either will be fine and both have support locally.

Google both part numbers, if any is made for the south american market stay away from it.

Dewalt is owned by black and decker, so they're really not great for commercial building IMO, but they're still solid units for light work. Go with the Milwaukee for the heavier stuff.

Regarding the hitachi, I was looking for a cheap grinder to do some light house work like cutting and sharpening gardening tools, for 250 I bought the hitachi and it has since given me two years service of moderate use.

Anyone of them is fine. I bought a Milwaukee 1/2" hammerdrill from Bhagwansinghs last week and I was given the same 2 year warranty Sonygroup mentioned above but was told that I have to take it in every six months to service or the warranty will be void... I could live with that so I took it. Hope this helps.

I have a Makita i bought from William H Scott, it does a decent job. The quality of the drill bits you use are a very big factor. If you plan to do any heavy drilling or use on a regular basis then forget a hammer drill and go straight for a rotary hammer. It's more expensive but it goes through concrete like butter. What takes 5 minutes will take 30 seconds with a rotary. Check Laughlin, they have Milwaukee with a good warranty. Hilti and Bosch are the best

Milwaukee... but get it from L&G, you will save a few dollars (sometimes hundreds).

nearly everybody gone china so they dont make tools like how they used to , prices considerably lower now than say 10yrs ago

both in d same bracket but i prefer milwaukee , just seems to me like its slightly better built ...

Between the two brands I would go with the deWalt , I own 10+ items from either brand and all new tools I'm buyin are deWalt . In my experience the dewalts less problematic and Laughlin service and spare parts availability is lacking ,I never had a problem for parts with the de Walt dealer - Esau oilfield
