What's worse is that FTX wallets was totally cleaned out so anybody who had their coins or funds on the exchange is now experiencing a total loss.

Looks like BlockFi is next.

The value of wealth lost with the crypto mess over the last 6 months is mind-bending.

The value of wealth gained is wayyyy more ...

When I first bought my first fraction of BTC it was worth just over 900 USD.

Hey folks, what do you think about this? could be useful for building new businesses with it.

A submission for the TronDAO Season 3 Hackathon.
It's a protocol for issuing decentralized Caribbean stablecoins backed by USDD on Tron blockchain.

Why would they?

Isn't the whole point of crypto to be unregulated?

When sheit goes sideways now you want regulations?

In the midst of this bear market, the buidl continues..

Public voting for the Tron Season 3 Hackathon is open. Help support a project with a Trini on the team if you like it.
Probably the only Caribbean submission made to this afaik..

Yes someone who was in a group called wire fraud is probably innocent
Sam Bankman-Fried and other members of the inner circle of the collapsed cryptocurrency exchange FTX allegedly formed a chat group on the encrypted platform Signal under the name “Wirefraud”
The Australian Financial Review reported that the Wirefraud chat group was used to send end-to-end encrypted information about FTX and its hedge fund, Alameda Research, in the run-up to the implosion of the exchange. According to the newspaper, members of the secret group included Bankman-Fried, his FTX partners Zixiao “Gary” Wang and Nishad Singh, and the CEO of Alameda Research Caroline Ellison

Virtually all have been blacklisted. If your bank has you noted as a persistent crypto purchaser, and you keep circumventing their security systems, the bank will simply not renew your credit card.

I use WISE. great experience thus far..usual tax on each transaction. Was forced to use it due to some business in Indonesia where they have been black balled by almost every other money transfer platform. its PISMO, OVO and most E-wallet compliant as well.

Also one of the few platforms that allows Credit cards outside of the US that you can use to load up the WISE account. (ofc you have the standard loading from a US bank account or an account that has the proper routing information..but its not as instant as a Credit Card load)

Usual requirements for signup: two forms of ID, proof of employment/pay slip.

Spoke to them apparently they don't support that transaction directly..I still have to liquidate funds from e wallet to get it to wise account.

All I need is an entity that can negotiate a USDT TRC-20 transaction code and cash it out by way of bank transfer etc for a fee..

Oh it's USDT TRC-20 not USD I'm talking about.. it's a
crypto currency system pegged to the US dollar..

Some services would simply give you a visa card and you can use that to access/use your funds...but usually it's only availble in the US Europe Asia etc....

Just be careful when you are using Wise. Many trinis are abusing it and the banks are clamping down by threatening non-renewal of CC upon expiry or outright closure of your card unannounced.

What is USDT (TRC-20)?

USDT (TRC-20) is a stablecoin issued by Tether that is native to the TRON blockchain. Tether (USDT) was first created in 2014, and aims to maintain a 1:1 exchange rate with the US Dollar through its reserves. Currently, USDT is the world’s most widely-used stablecoin with a market cap of over $78 billion.

There is talk about the status of the USDT stablecoin. Some say that is the next domino to fall while others say is FUD. If you have assets stored in USDT, convert to another stablecoin such as BUSD or DAI.

Better to be safe than sorry.
