I share your passion and your pain and also am thankful for being alive. My ek4 isn't written off but after putting money , blood and sweat into repairing and mods...For the vehicle to be taken out by an irate driver in a hit and run.

Yup, my ek hatch saved me...only a few bruised ribs when a drunk driver hit me head on and I too had 3rd party. Sorry to hear about the loss but at least you are alive and well.
