Not necessary since TTDF plates are "1 TTDF 21" and regular "TDF 21" are clearly different even at a glimpse. There was a rumour that "PCG" was skipped because of coast guard, but was really because of similarity to "PCC".

I had expected the F skip. I got my number yesterday - early TDG - enquired discreetly why they skipped - was told because of possible confusion between TDF and TTDF plates - national security issue. I actually had thought they might also skip G as well and go straight to H since I assumed that there would have been visual confusion between C & G but was told it was skipped for the same reason that F was skipped - PCG/TCG/HCG/RCG was too close to Coast Guard plates (although they are less common) - another National Security issue. If we don't change this system by then (I have to assume we will by then), they will also skip the "R" in PTR, for example - because of its EXACT equivalent of the "T" variant to the TT Regiment's plates - TTR.
