Kublalsingh to fast from hunger strike for Lent

It was early Ash Wednesday morning when local environmental activist and biological marvel Dr. Wayne Kublalsingh announced his intention to honor the Lenten tradition of fasting by fasting from his fast for the next 40 days. Kublalsingh, who claims he has neither eaten nor drank water for over 150 days told the Late O’clock News “God is the one who is keeping me alive right now, and I feel like I need to praise him by fasting from what I love the most, and in my case, its this hunger strike.”

When pressed into revealing if this meant his hunger strike was done for good, Kublalsingh vehemently denied the statement, saying “No no no…..this 40 days of fasting I am going to have most certainly does not mean I am done with my strike as I am not fasting for myself, I am doing it for the Lord, as soon as Lent is over I am going back to hunger striking fully reenergized, and hopefully full of vigor an intensity”

Dr. Kublalsingh says he hopes to patronize the KFC in Debe as frequently as possible so he does not seem detached from his cause while fasting. “I cannot let my conviction appear to fall by the wayside,” Dr. Kublalsingh said, “therefore I will make sure to eat in the Debe / Mon Desir area as much as possible. to show my solidarity with not only those displaced by the highway’s construction, but also with those who are the backbone of our society, the doublesman, the saheena lady, the pie man, I plan to use this time to forge a close bond with them in order to show this government that the will of the doublesman is the will of the nation.”

Kublalsigh says he hopes that his hunger strike fast would not only bring awareness to his cause, but to other important causes as well. “I like to think that I am eating for justice, not only for justice for the residents of the Debe / Mon Desir area, but justice for all, I’m eating against corruption, eating for the starving children, eating for gay marriage and most importantly, eating for a better Trinidad and Tobago.”
