I never understand why people seem to switch service providers so often or as soon as an issue arises.

BTW.....those speeds are wow.

You should try Digicel's server especially when you have that kind of speed

Hahah yeah I don`t need all this speed but since the year started I get constant DNS issues and buffering issues so it became a problem now.

Getting some weird problems all day.
Service continually drops off, then comes back up and so on. And when it works nothing tht requires a high speed works well, namely Netflix/ Sling etc.
The Internet light keeps going out on the box.

We did have an electricity blackout last night, maybe when it returned it damaged the modem. Anyone ever had anything like this?

I was getting some low speed and higher pings to Amplia on Friday and into weekend. I might change out my modem, had theirs since 2015, maybe you should too!

With ur higher internet you ping should be lower, maybe test when no device is drawing net.

You clearly don't know the difference between internet speed and ping with that comment.....

Latency is generally independent of bandwidth (Internet speed)

Latency, as commonly measured by ping times, is an indication of how long it takes for your system to send data to another computer and to receive its response. Latency is influenced primarily by how far the data must travel—it takes much longer to access a webpage on a server that is halfway around the world than one that is on a server next door. Longer communication routes, where the data must pass through many switches and routers, increase latency as well.

Bandwidth, usually expressed in megabits per second (Mbps), is the amount of data that can be sent or received by your system over the network per unit of time. Bandwidth is what you typically pay for when you purchase Internet service—with most home Internet services, more expensive plans provide more bandwidth.

Although higher bandwidth can improve latency during times of congestion, under normal conditions, the two are generally independent. The HughesNet Gen4 satellite Internet service, for example, provides good bandwidth (up to 15 Mbps), but suffers from poor latency, averaging about 700 ms ping. This high ping is due to the nature of satellite Internet service, which requires beaming data up to a satellite and back down. Conversely, a dedicated T1 line has only 1.5 Mbps of bandwidth but can provide latency as low as 10 ms.

What is "ping", "download speed", and "upload speed"?

I do notice ping times increasing if my bandwidth is maxed out though with my blink otg, and I think at work too with our Flow internet.

Yeah it's dual band 2.4 and 5.0 frequencies. Range more or less the same. And I can log into it now with the details at back of it.Image

I having real problems with the 2.4G network. I keeps dropping off. They cant seem to fix it.

I have asked them to remove the service and they not doing that. I am not going to pay for a service that is not function properly.

I will have to go back to FLOW and TSTT.

I had them disable the router features put it in bridge mode
Then plugged in my old router
Works great
(Did this then I was using flow as well)

Well I got it fixed. They told me the reason the 2.4 gigahertz keeps dropping off is channel interference in the environment. Other devices/routers using that same frequency interfering so they changed the channel on a 2.4 frequency.

Then it still kept dropping off so they told me I could log into the router myself and change the frequency any time that happens again. I used a frequency far from anything anyone else in the neighborhood was using like 36, since then it has been working fine. I changed the channel on the 5 gigahertz as well.

Hope this helps you!

Yeah, the problem with 2.4ghz is the amount of interference I has to deal with. Nothing much you can do for that other than going 5ghz

Well I couldn't log in to the older router, but since I got this new one, I asked them if if I could log into my router instead of bothering them all the time. He said sure just look at the details at the back of your router and login with it. He said it's only for Wireless settings but I see other settings like lan wan etc. Check it out.

Alluh should download a app named WiFi analyzed and check the surrounding networks and see what channel they on, and look for the least crowded frequency and set it to that, I get zero issues by me

So that was why the 2.4GHz kept disappearing.
Good to know.

Don't know why Flow still not allowing bridge mode on the moca modem. But running it with two AC routers as access points works for now

After some dialog, Amplia wanted to resolve the issue. So they send a technician from POS, mind you I living Rio Claro, he hooked up and installed a, what looks like a high tech router to the system and configured it.

For the last 36 hours, I have had no issues on both frequencies, the 2.4 or the 5.0g.

By Monday, I will finalize my decision to keep them. So far if this continues to hold, they looking good.
