How about start removing cars that are not fit to be on the roads. This would be a great step in removing cars from the road and increasing road safety.

real nonsense as 99% of diesels are turbo now

they should have raised the diesel a little higher last time to $2.30-2.40
the last raise only affected a tank by about $10 which amounts to nothing over several days

I don't understand .... you want less tax or a harsher tax? Your statement seems ambiguous

turbo tax will be a lot harsher surely , equivalent to gasoline engine cc tax.........
subsidies should really be reduced as it is a waste of money in these times realistically

Pickups are substantially less duty and MVT than cars.

Offer T registration and relevant tax breaks only if you registered farmer with a farmers card or the vehicle being registered to a company.

Otherwise Turbo tax and regular tax them pick ups.

Don't turbochargers make a diesel more efficient?

A turbo diesel only compresses air and channels that into the engine.

It's not like a petrol where it is an air + fuel mix.

Das ole turbo .... Recent turbo engines have direct injection. So only air is compressed and sent into the combustions chamber then fuel spayed directly into the cylinder.

And doh start talk bout efficiency please habbit go jump in with some erroneous statement .. btw anybody see Habbit? Since Patrick Manning dead de man gone quiet.

Would be hard to implement a different tax if the purchaser is a company or individual as all the duties and taxes are paid to customs. Unless the dealers bond the vehicles and sell from the bond and include paperwork for exemption for each vehicle.. but the red tape in that and bobol it could create arent worth it..

Such a structure already exists and works. Traveling officers already get their vehicles bonded by the dealer and released without much hassle or bobol when the paper work is done.

Like you posting under the influence again or wha?

Cause when Colm say he gonna tax something ... there is a high chance that he is going to tax such said item/activity. So panic is well warranted.
