tank rental from igl is $20/month and $69 to fill up, welder doesn't use much.
The other gases like argon are more expensive.
Need a $2k deposit for the tank also.

they only lease the big tanks which is a pain to transport.
I should really look at buying my own tank.

Balljoint ,personal preferance for me is Linconln , Edoos in san fernando sells them or you can try Ft farfan , i think that edoos have the better prices as well as better aftersales service , there is also ssl in sando that have a division called Arcrite , they carry lincoln as well as some other economy brands so you should have a better variety there , try and get one that works with the gas and not only limited to flux core IGL selling the nice smaller bottles of CO2 to the public so you better of buying a small bottle from them , there are the IGL distributors who have started selling CO2 gas recently as well , just carry in yur MT cylinder and leave with a full one just pay for the gas no rental etc . I have a lincoln 175 , I really like this machine hardly ever use the arc , only if is some place that the mig cant reach.

Was looking for something along the lines of a Miller 190 with the spool gun for aluminum. Was looking at the Miller 211 also but I think that might be little overkill but if the price difference is not bad i'll go for it
Anybody know a pricing on these?
Thanks guys

Window material is thin so mig with co2 is easier for doing that
You can get combo machines that do both mig and stick and some with tig also

Mig hose and gun too short to reach roofs, good for windows and gates but too expensive if you check wire and co2. Use a 220v Lincoln, you might never have to buy another for the next twenty years. With practice you welding any thickness as long as you use the right adjustments and rods.

And a DC version for a bit more versatility.

yeah mig is a bit troublesome with the co2 tank but still convenient if you can afford to have it in a fixed setup

if going stick only you can get good chinese inverter dc welders now that strong enough to burn 10ga rods all day
and only weigh 15lbs, about the size of a shoebox and pretty cheap too, probably cheaper than a lincoln even if you bring it via skybox

Bought my Lincoln at Ramlagans in Balmain. Was cheaper than Edoos and Bhagwansingh at the time.

Best information here...with a mig u could use it with out the CO2. There is wire they sell that doesn't need the CO2. And a proper stick welder is great over the Mig....just change rods accordingly....There is a small arc welder they sell...comes in a small box....should look into that

You talking about flux cored wire. That doesn't need co2, but weld is not as neat as using the co2.
