Coast Guard disciplines members for Mannequin Challenge

Postby K74T » November 18th, 2016, 5:49 pm

Members of the Coast Guard who were filmed and participated in a Mannequin Challenge, are now facing disciplinary action.

The video of the Coast Guard officers was widely circulated on social media sites.

Reports indicate that the officers have been placed on four days confinement.

The video shows several Coast Guard members posing still in a cafeteria with their weapons.

The Mannequin Challenge requires more than one person to appear frozen in time while someone films them.

The challenges has been posted tens of thousands of times on Youtube and Facebook and was even done by US Democrat Presidential candidate Hillary Clinton and her team that included the former US President Bill Clinton.

A senior Coast Guard official has said that the Mannequin Challenge does not fit the high standards expected within the Coast Guard.

All coast guard members should be dealt with since they have been allowing contraband to enter the country uninhibited!

Wow, way to overreact, they're just having a bit of fun, no need to punish them for that

Hate these kissmihass challenges but a stern in-house "watch nah" would have sufficed.

I find theirs was sheit. Looked more embarrassing than anything if that's what they really do in the coast guard on a daily.

They got reprimanded because of how lame it was.

In uniformed military and paramilitary groups they like to tell you that you are no longer civilians so do not behave like one

This video clearly shows life in the Coast Guard....
They stand around whole day doing nothing or pointing their guns at each other.
Suppose that officer had blown off his toe while resting his gun on his boot.....
I say their punishment should be to do the same mannequin challenge pose for 2 days straight.
Totally unacceptable behaviour for the service..... Leave that behaviour for the Police...

Those seniors seem like the Afro Saxon types, get on big and bad for something inconsequential like this that might actually build team spirit, but turn a blind eye to the larger problems in the organization. They're all over the public (dis)service.
