A homeless man who stole a car, then used it as a “PH” taxi in Arima, has been arrested and charged with multiple crimes.

The 45-year-old suspect was held by officers of the Arima CID, while driving around with passengers.

The man, who police said had no fixed place of abode, was arrested and charged by officers conducting an exercise on Sunday in the Arima district.

The man was charged for using a vehicle contrary to registration, possession of apparatus, driving without a driver's permit, driving without a certificate of insurance and resisting arrest.

The vehicle in which he was found, a blue Honda Civic, was reported stolen on May 24 in the Western Division.

Charges are expected to be laid against the suspect in connection with larceny of the motor vehicle.

What the government can do is provide him with a job. At least he would not be stealing then. But then again if the guy had done this taxi service now, he could have done some other job quite long before. I guess the problem is he does not want to work.

I would from the information not think he stole it himself. The vehicle was probably stolen, used by the thieves and then they left it or gave him the keys. Unfortunately he wont get a second chance by the police as they have to guage character and all kina thing. The judge however can show some mercy by the court by assigning community service, or better yet, getting him an evaluation and helping him get escorted into some government position.. cepep or whatever, he have no license so he cah get a wukk driving for the borough although i hear they hiring drivers.

Im with you. At that level. You homeless.. what do you have to lose? You take a shot and fuq the consequences.. naught from naught is naught.
