8,

It’s constant care and maintenance.

You have to be grooming very often at least 3 times a day so when they shed, its less hair to shed and clean up.

You cannot totally stop the hair, but you could minimize it by what i just said.

It takes an effort.

My pack are accustomed to the vacuum cleaner.
Not long coat per se,but the Akita in them gives a constantly shedding double coat.
Sometimes I blow them down with the leaf blower outside. Its all a game to them at that point and they rather enjoy it.
The vacuum is for when they have lots of fine floof flying about.
I made a contraption out of Velcro stuck to a piece of sponge that traps stray hair as well.Is literally to glue Velcro to a piece of sponge or foam.Works great in the car as well.
Leaf blower gets most of it done

Niece started a grooming business, last year, she coming in the morning for their usual bath/blowdry/brush down, etc.

Thank God for her, I only have to deal with grooming one of the pack.
Big boy is a handful and a half,

Times,

That is garbage long with Purina, Pedigree, Alpo, Pro Plan etc etc. Basically stay away from and brands found in the grocery, agri shop or a struggling pet store.

May i suggest Pro Pac, Health Extension, Taste of the Wild etc….Royal Canin if you can get.

I use Acana and Orijen at times….2 big bags of that is some men grocery bill for the month. Call the dealer, he does delivery. The boy d name Avin @ 685-2862.

Welcome

Avoid that like the plague. Better you cook for them than feed them that.

If you looking for a decent commercial dry dog food but you on a budget and don't want to spend a lot on premium brands, you can try Victor dog food. Cheapest is the multi pro formula in the yellow bag, it's a little more expensive than the purina green bag but A LOT better quality.
