fridge part still not cool enough. can the fan in the freezer be spinning but still be faulty ? right now the freezer empty and usually would see frost when the freezer door is open but now it just cold with no frost. can it be the fan? the area to the back where the fan is has ice building up.

Icing is usually with faulty temp control and leaks.

Sounding like gas is escaping. 30mins later the freezer still coolin, compressor cycling normal. The only noticeable difference is that the exterior is feelin cooler now. Any suggestions what went on?

put some flashband over the hole.

I have a fridge that stopped colding.Every few minutes you would hear a click click noise so I assume it was the compressor trying to start.Tried taking out the capacitor attached to the compressor and it came out in pieces with burn marks.

I went by Reliable and bought a hard start kit to replace the capacitor.Came home and hooked it up according to the diagram on the packaging and it worked.Left it running overnight thinking it would be working this morning but back to square one where its blowing hot.Could it be a defective capacitor or the compressor bad?

Hard start is last resort for a failing comp. Gopaul luck ah seepaul luck.

Had a fridge purchased from a certain place close to where skyline babe lives. Paid brand new price for it, didnt know about refrigerators then. When it failed I found a hard start kit on the comp. Asked about it and found what looked like pellet gun bullet indentations all over my windscreen.

Owners brother wife says they usually bring in failed appliances with quick repair in them. It lasted 12 years though.

Chances are your compressor was gone and it was on the verge of being toast. Comps can go and still be working. Know some of those older refrigerators when you hold the door and not wearing slippers you get some volts? Compressor gone, windings have a short to ground and it still working.

It can happen.

Question now is, what toasted it.

How often do you do maintenance on your fridge? Have plenty fridge I took a peep on and the condenser clogged or not working properly. Head pressures would be sky high and so would current draw.
