i think it's part of that same system. You can see the band of moving rain across the map.

You know, for once, I agree with you. 2020 will be tough for water.

No water since Sunday (4 days now) because WASA doing repairs in St. Joseph. They do not even know when they will finish. Not a peep from anyone.

4:30 PM - Another round of moderate to heavy rain (more prolonged than showers) is approaching Eastern Trinidad. This will exacerbate ongoing flooding, and bring watercourses even closer to overtopping.

Scattered showers are affecting Tobago.

A Riverine Flood Alert is in effect, particularly for areas in Southern Trinidad.

Major rivers across Southwestern Trinidad are at threshold levels or have overtopped as of 3:00 PM

Does anyone have the 2019 actual rainfall numbers to-date? I am getting historical averages but can't compare against actuals.
My environment and water table condition seems to be in line with my annual experience and the assertion about significant shortfall in rainfall has me a wondering if maybe the problem is run-off isn't finding its way into reservoirs.

Remember the ODPM and Met office are clueless and incompetent bro. Consistent erroneous information.

Sadly its the citizens that are affected.

what is the expectations today into tonight? cause any more water and the currently drenched areas, will get devastated with any further significant rain.
i watching the first page and i cant figure out anything.

y its necessary, some places people can wait out the flooding. but if any more rain falls, it will be water on top of water, so it would be advisable to move out.
but, if no rain, then they dont have to add unnecessary strain on the systems.

So far PoS hasn't had any rain since morning. Didn't rain overnight in Tunapuna either.

Anyone knows how the rest of the country is?

A five minute drive from me in Tulsa Trace, Penal is under 7' of water. A partner told me his colleague had to sleep in his vehicle in front of a restaurant on the S.S. Erin Road last night, because the water near Powergen was too high for his NP300 to pass. Madness.

Riverine Flood Warning # 3 - Orange Level
Flood
Thu, Dec 12, 2019 12:12 PM to Fri, Dec 13, 2019 6:00 PM

Isolated light to moderate showers are expected this afternoon with a low (30%) chance of heavy showers or thunderstorms. Run-off from rainfall over the last 24 hours continues to reach some of the smaller water courses and as a result, impacted areas remain inundated as flood waters are still slowly on the rise in southern Trinidad. Spring tides are also in effect, which can exacerbate conditions at high tide. The Caroni River is currently at maximum capacity and has overflowed onto its banks and low lying surrounding areas.
