Just drove from Piarco to Sangre Grande and constant heavy drizzle. Ease up a little bit in Grande now.

At the moment in San Juan it looks worse than it is. Quite dark so that makes it seem worse.

Seeing a lil blob of weather approaching from the East, prob about a 60 miles out and moving about 10 knots….so i say just before lunch it would reach the east coast, will see.

Nun to worry too much about except for the folks that get flooded easy.

As always, you Trinis keep warm and be alert.

U sure it’s only the last two days they fell asleep?

I was thinking from the day they started employment.

they up now- and once the flood alert goes to orange level, what does that mean for schools tomorrow?

Riverine Flood Alert #2 - Orange Level
Flood
Wed, Nov 9, 2022 6:45 AM to Fri, Nov 11, 2022 4:00 PM

Major river levels across Trinidad are currently near or above 80%, and smaller watercourses are also at critical levels. Periods of rainfall will likely continue over the next 36 - 48 hours, which will result in further elevation of the river levels. As a result, there is now a high risk to public safety, livelihood and property. Run off will be slow at high tide times, which are approximately 4:14pm for today (Wednesday 9th November 2022) and 5:17 am & 4:45pm tomorrow (Thursday 10th November 2022).

Adverse Weather Alert # 1 - Yellow Level
Issuance time (local time) Wed, Nov 9, 2022 2:32 PM
Start date (local time) Thu, Nov 10, 2022 2:00 AM
End date (local time) Fri, Nov 11, 2022 4:00 PM

Description: A combination of features, including the ITCZ and low - level troughs, is expected to affect the region. Periods of rain and/or showers of varying intensities are expected, with a medium to high (60 - 70%) chance of heavy showers and thunderstorms that can produce intense rainfall in excess of 50mm. Street/flash flooding and localized ponding are also likely in heavy downpours. Landslides/landslips are also possible in susceptible areas, as the land is already saturated. Gusty winds in excess of 55 km/h may be experienced and seas can become agitated at times in sheltered areas.
Instructions:
Do not wade or drive through flood waters. Secure loose outdoor items and livestock. Persons are advised to monitor weather conditions and river levels.
More information: www.metoffice.gov.tt; www.odpm.gov.tt
Area description: Trinidad and Tobago

I heard on the news just now that yellow alert will come into effect at 2AM in the morning. So they've already set themselves up to say there can be school tomorrow since it won't be orange alert.

1 yellow alert and 1 orange alert running concurrently.

one is for possible flooding and the other for rain/wind/thunderstorm conditions
