The official tropical weather thread 2021

Postby 2WNBoost » September 27th, 2021, 2:15 pm

The extreme heating causes strong updrafts that lifts the moisture to high altitudes where it freezes.
That’s what’s happening today.
The bad news is, strong thunderstorms / clouds like this could also generate tornadoes.

Loads of heat, humidity, and no significant sheer forces and upper level winds.

Heat is what drives ur convectional uplift. And the more uplift is the higher and colder u get.
And the greater. Residency time to let thr hail stones grow In size.

Many larger thunder storms would form hail, but they melt before they reach the surface.
His hsil got so big, it was able to remsin solid by thr time it reached the surface.

A lot of these storms are heading north and away from the Caribbean.

Since last year NOAA has been reporting that sea surface temperatures are higher than usual in the Atlantic Ocean, even as far North as Canada
https://www.actionnews5.com/2020/09/06/ ... an-normal/

Not sure if this is a reason

Yes, and it doesn't seem to abate much even after sundown. Only well into the night are you getting cooler temps.

Careful Slim,

Im guessing you want the storm to hit us bad because you are confident that your home is safe.

Open your doors when the Venes come knocking on your door or they WILL open it for you. Your lil rusty cutlass and camera system is no match.

And i know you will have plenty food for them.

So don’t be disappointed youngman, be grateful that Mother Nature has spared us once again.
