Of course, you can also try putty around the windows if there are gaps when the window was first installed.

maybe you could try stuffing or running some strips of cloth to fill up the gap before closing the windows to block air whistling through and pushing water

the TS Warning say start time 8:00pm, so I guess 5 hours is enough buffer for the kids to reach home (school supposed to be 3km from home, at least at primary school level afaik).

Exactly. Everyone braying about this forgetting a parent has the option to keep their kids home. Closing schools when parents haven’t made any arrangements is worse

you could also run silicone on the frame side then cover it with a strip of glad wrap
then close the window so the window would squish the silicone tight and seal better.
the glad wrap can be removed after the silicone dries

Been having a problem in the early morning where bees see the light on and enter my bathroom via a badly installed window. Had a box of Caulk Cord Weatherseal lying around for years and it fixed that problem as well as dealt with the draft coming through the closed window.

It would be utter chaos if in the middle of the day schools were told to send kids home. Mass exodus of ppl on the roads causing grid lock traffic plus everyone at the same time requesting time off to go get kids... Sounds like the day of policing.

The consolation is the effect starts at 8pm giving everyone enough time to get home and batten down the hatches.

Open the window, stick it on to the frame, close the window. It forms a seal - Helps your A/C work better too

What he said^. Around 1300 or so tomorrow, the highways, gas stations, groceries etc would be ram packed with last minute panic buyers.
Those sitting cxc and cape should just leave immediately after. As per other children, parents should note that one day away from school will not kill them. If that storm does some damage schools should be closed on Wednesday.

You and I on the same wavelength. But I feel Rowley initially told him to keep schools open.

Good call, although a little late.
Better to reduce the people on the road tomorrow, esp since weather conditions may ramp up from afternoon into the night.

There was a second Bret in 2017 that hit Trinidad directly. Caused quite a lot of damage to property and infrastructure too.

Was a very frightening experience...
This, it either weakened as it passed over trinidad, only to strengthen after, or it had passed between trini and bago... Mostly affecting tobago.

Remember the big flood in 2017 or so, and they let people go back to work, but most places along the caroni was flooded, so traffic backed up, and blocked rescue efforts.

These dummies don't learn.
But at least the got the school ting right this time.
One less obstruction on the roadways, and emergencies to deal with.
