I have regular 8mp hk cameras on outside my property looking up and down the street
ttps has come a few times to see if they could getfootage to assist in some other crimes off avenue
in each case they said these "consumer" grade cameras were better than the fancy ones on the avenuePhone Surgeon wrote:commercial ip cameras with proper legit software costs are amazing
i once did a 16 camera system for 100,000 for a corporation
i gave them the option...chinese ip cameras with just as good quality and 3rd party software for 20k for all 16 cameras
nah them eh want thatttt
best of the best
100k for 16 cams installed. custom made NVR
and within 2 months they take down all the cameras when they redid the facing of the building

so almost impossible to see somebody face unless extremely well lit place.
I can tell you this since I had a home invasion and I have multiple hik cameras and wyze cameras
Correct video evidence is not admissible in a court of law, you could have a video of a guy clearly committing a crime, let's say Mr.Two pull, yet he and his lawyer can state that was tampered with and not his client thus throwing it out of court.16 cycles wrote:pugboy wrote:farmer say facial recognition cameras coming

think the laws not set up to prosecute on video evidence only - so that's another hurdle

video evidence doesnt have to be admissible in court for you to use it
it can be used to conduct enquiries and pressure suspects

also used as a basis to get a search warrant for instance if it is the suspect stole items- and when those items are actually found they can be used in court- that's how it can work- or get cell phone records of them being in the area. if the camera can pick up a license plate of the vehicle they in which was reported stolen they getting charge for that as well.
but recently tho i believe they changed laws to allow video evidence- u may just have to have the officer who using the software testifying in court, and perhaps a video expert who can refute claims of tampering.
Lol and we all know how punctual cops are when it comes to court. Good luck getting an officer show up for a court matter to testify on your behalf unless he knows you....timelapse wrote:Because we all know that cops don't lieredmanjp wrote:Phone Surgeon wrote:hover11 wrote:Correct video evidence is not admissible in a court of law, you could have a video of a guy clearly committing a crime, let's say Mr.Two pull, yet he and his lawyer can state that was tampered with and not his client thus throwing it out of court.16 cycles wrote:pugboy wrote:farmer say facial recognition cameras coming
