Postby 3Porsche » November 8th, 2019, 9:16 am

Does anyone know the procedures for registering a small used trailer for the road?

should be the same as registering a car so walk with all the supporting document you would use. Just note they only registering trailers built overseas, no local trailers. Must have the manufacture documents for the trailer details.

I built my own boat trailer and got it registered in 1998.

Built it according to the law with brakes . It took about 2 weeks to get it registered. Had to get it weighed and chassis number welded on. Was some running around and red tape.

I think the law changed and you cant build local trailers anymore. It's a dumb law cause by the roll on roll off market and greedy car dealerships.

It's a stupid law on trailers and kit cars,.It was never thought out properly.

In the past nearly all trailers was locally built for the sugar industry. Then the goverment brought in roll on roll off laws and that fcuk it up.

It's so dumb that you can build a trailer in Grenada import it and get it registered but you can't build one here.
