The Trinibago Wishlist thread-Say what you want for & in T&T

Postby 88sins » December 5th, 2019, 11:08 am

Ok ladies & gents, gear heads & key crankers
I was talking with people and I realized, a lot of different people want a lot of different things to happen in this place. From better and more regular water supply to cheaper housing, from solutions to national and personal security concerns, to removals of taxes, from the elimination of corruption to the incarceration of politicians. And it's because of these discussions with people, that I've observed that even though there's many that make themselves content with whatever is possible or available, there are a lot of people that are not too happy with what we currently have and as we all know, there's always room for improvement. For all our differences, many of us do in fact want many of the same things regardless of our differing socio-economic status or or religion or where we may work or reside in T&T. But we sometimes forget that, especially when we focused on living our own individual lives

So I thought I'd start this thread here as a way for people to openly voice their opinions to say whatever they want for and in T&T, no judgment, no matter how odd it might seem to you or others, no matter how likely or unlikely it may be to happen, no matter whether not it's currently illegal or unlikely to become unavailable to the masses. Just say what you want for T&T, both for the physical country and it's citizenry. Doesn't matter if you want one thing or a million. Say what you want there to be or cease to exist, to start or to stop, for one or all, in T&T.

All opinions and perspectives are welcome.

I wish for politicians who approach their job as if Trinidad is their only home and they don't have the freedom to peel out when it becomes a failed state.

I would like to see the politicians do what they asked to be hired to do and the billions they control, be put to the use it's intended for. The people also need to their part and be responsible citizens. Trinidad has no right to be in the position it's in after so many billions spent. Water , traffic and crime immediately comes to mind.

I would like people to be less emotionally attached to their opinion and willing to change their point of view based on evidence provided. I would like people that support certain politicians to hold those politicians accountable. The strongest supporters need to be the biggest critics, not just the biggest stone to be thrown down, stepped on and forgotten.

But Rovin hit the nail on the head as well.

In all seriousness and putting all the Pekong and taunting aside...
better education for all ranges, better heath care with higher standards..... reduced crime ..... so you can walk anywhere and feel safe again and additional resources and facilities for young people to be more involved in the community and sports.

Better education how? MoE wants to boast about improving passrates because they're dumbing down the syllabus yearly. We need to stop that sheit all-round. UWI needs to move to more comprehensive 4 year programs. Our top UWI graduates are far behind the top international universities. Too much mediocrity going on in UWI.

Young people need to stop being so entitled and work harder and learn to self learn. Those who do that reach far internationally. But the majority don't and can't compete outside of Trinidad.

i myself was never involved with any guns, never got robbed ect, but i would like all these asses with illegal firearms to kindly misplace them all.

Besides the obvious things like public utilities and infrastructure,

My focus is on the crime/prison/punishment system.

I know we will never see this (unless I go into politics)
but I would like to do away with all the prisons/jails whatever you choose to call them.
Turn them into hospitals/businesses/housing, but first Demolish them and start over from the ground up, to get rid of the 'taint' left by the former occupants.

Where will the criminals be kept?

In each part of the country there should be squares allocated for the public humiliation and torture of criminals.

For example, your expertise is home invasion and armed robbery with a side order of physical assault?
Then you should be strung up upside down from a line, and members of the public can pay, say $100 for a bag with 20 stones which they can use to hurl at the crook with full force. The gov't of the day would gain a steady revenue stream, as well as benefiting from the reduced cost of housing/feeding/entertaining them, while still paying whatever bills for the victims.

Rapist/pedo/traffickers should be put in a very small cage, lower to the ground than the previous example, with limited movement and members of the public should be able to do whatever they want for a small fee. This includes the use of rusty metal pipes or wooden 2x4 with nails, in any way they want. They can also be used as public urinals or toilets.

Etc.
