Seeing as though the river close by I was thinking a water wheel with a lobe pump on the shaft like how a turbo built.

Lobe pump will suck water off the road if a catchment is constructed. Can move water up a small incline once primed.

Valve setup controlled by floats should keep prime. Bar screens to keep bottles etc out.

This could change though. The weather we are experiencing is normal. Some years are different, but this is normal.

Imagine a really terrible season, or worst, an actual hurricane making landfall.

Or you could take the scenic drive through Tabaquite straight to Rio Claro junction. By the time you get there, you’d have already passed most of the bad road and big trucks…
