Cause my supervisor in work said and allyuh phaggots go tell me I making up nancy story but whatever the man said anytime he get covid he making sure to spread it to as much people as possible. Knowing how nasty minded he is I won't doubt him for one second and this mentality is very common among Trinis.

People who are stuck in one position and can't do better often become bitter and resentful towards others in life so if they get a virus like this it is a perfect excuse for them to take it out on others. So mask not helping people like them which also could explain why most Trinis on the whole not wearing masks.

Also I have a question regarding goggles, how useful is a mask without some form of eye protection?
Sounds like he want to give it to u rel bad.

they changing their tune for risk probabilty

1 - reduce risk that an asymptomatic person will spread
2 - help block droplets from an infected person(above or generally contagious) flying into your inhalation

mainly #1 but wearing masks requires discipline for the reduced comfort and constantly readjusting etc

Most of the medics abroad are also wearing the transparent plastic shields that look like weedwacker face mask
folks are 3d printing the frame and using projector transparency plastic as the shield

Do you recommend buying the Dewalt or some kind of goggles to use with general surgical mask? the blue face mask is what my employer provides

Or would a face shield be sufficient and no need for a mask?

Really wish we could share this video and have people view it, I know most won't because it is a 32 minute video but honestly if people saw it they would see how dangerous this virus is. It basically going to rotten your lungs if you suffer from things like hypertension which includes a LOT of people
It is going to fill with fluid and you will drown and there is nothing they can do to save you. If you are lucky you will fall in the 50% bracket where a ventilator will save you and you end up with a damaged lung for life, except there will be no ventilator to even give to you.

This guy is a surgeon he knows what he is talking about think how many of us suffer from high blood pressure and diabetes it doesn't look as bad for diabetics maybe you will recover but it appears to be a death sentence for those with high blood pressure

Guys please share this video on facebook etc so people can see it and ask them to share it

Good explanation about it.
Ppl think I joking when I tell them, how this thing kills you is that your basically drown in your own bodily fluids due to an extreme immune response. So all that want to go get whatever tablet or shots they want to boost immune system function and reaction, have at it and lie and tell yourself that will save you.

Was hearing from someone I know that the medical community is considering surgical and natural options for drainage of fluid buildup in the light of the serious shortages of respiratory aid equipment.

Let’s hope the food doesn't run out...

DUQUESNE, Pa. (KDKA) — The Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank has the capacity to serve 1,500 cars with food today.

When the food bank opened at noon, KDKA’s Chris Hoffman reported a mile-long line of two rows of cars practically stretching all the way to Route 837.

There are so many cars, police are directing traffic and restrictions are in place until 5 p.m. Monday.

As cars finally get to the front of the line, the food bank is loading the boxes of food right into the trunk to avoid any contact.

The food will be given out until 3:00 p.m.

The last two food distributions drew massive crowds and caused major delays on Route 837. The food bank anticipates helping out about 1,700 families today. Food is going fast right now during the coronavirus pandemic.

A precursor to civil unrest?

Work strikes at Amazon, Instacart and Whole Foods show essential workers' safety concerns

After a month of frenzied shopping, stay-at-home measures and the escalation of the coronavirus crisis, the pressure cooker of the workplace appears ready to boil over.

Workers at an Amazon warehouse on Staten Island, New York, walked out during lunch Monday, over concerns about safety at the job site. "How many cases we got? Ten!" went a call-and-response chant outside the fulfillment center that afternoon, in reference to workers who had tested positive there with COVID-19.

Co-workers there feared for their own health because workers weren't always physically distanced and the site was not closed to be sanitized. "We are working long, crowded shifts in the epicenter of a global pandemic, and Amazon has failed to provide us with the most basic safeguards to protect us, our families, and the public's health,” said Rina Cummings, a worker at the center, in a statement released by Athena, a coalition of groups that represent Amazon workers and others concerned about the company's influence.

Like the Swedes know something the rest of the world doesn't...:|

Sweden says no to quarantine – is this the most reckless or the most proportionate Covid-19 response in the West?
Guy Birchall

With most of Europe imposing extraordinary restrictions to slow the spread of coronavirus, Sweden has left its citizens surprisingly free. Are Swedes rolling the dice with their public health, or is everyone else overreacting?

As most of Europe clamps down in a bid to slow the spread of Covid-19, one country is bucking the trend. Sweden is taking a markedly more liberal approach to combatting the virus. Despite its closest neighbours, Denmark and Norway, shutting down all but essential services, Swedes remain free to socialise as the harsh Scandinavian winter comes to an end. Although universities and high schools have shut, pre-schools, kindergartens, bars, restaurants, ski resorts, sports clubs and hairdressers have all remained open.

The streets of Stockholm and Malmo are noticeably quieter than usual, but positively bustling compared to those of Copenhagen, Oslo, London, Paris and Rome. Standing in bars is banned but as long as punters can find a seat they’re free to enjoy a night out. Other steps taken include gatherings of more than 50 people being banned and the over 70s being urged to self-isolate.

With the exception of Belarus, which hasn’t even suspended its football league, Sweden’s restrictions amount to the most relaxed out there. This has prompted observers both in and outside the country to wonder if they are playing fast and loose with the nation’s health or taking the most proportionate response in the West. Prime minister Stefan Lofven has warned that times ahead would be tough but also put the onus on individual Swedes. He added: “We all, as individuals, have to take responsibility. We can’t legislate and ban everything.”

This tactic is at odds with the strategy in the UK which has been to tell citizens to stay at home and limit leaving the house to once a day. Sweden’s experts have taken a very different view to the UK’s, with their state epidemiologist, Anders Tengell, saying the Imperial College London modelling, predicting 250,000 deaths and informing Boris Johnson’s strategy, is “pessimistic”. The latest numbers in Sweden show nearly 3,500 cases and 105 deaths. Tengell told The Observer: “As long as the Swedish epidemic development stays at this level, I don’t see any big reason to take measures that you can only keep up for a very limited amount of time.”

Sweden’s move has allowed for businesses to stay open, reducing the impact on the country’s economy. The approach has been broadly well received by the public, who view it as a more sensible course of action than the draconian steps taken in other countries. It also places the country in a better position to ramp back up to full capacity after the pandemic subsides. Lofven’s government seems less inclined to be seen to just “do something” compared to many in the West. Swedes have not clamoured for the state to restrict their freedoms in the same way many in other countries appear to have done.

Only time will tell what the best response to this year’s outbreak turns out to be, but for the moment Sweden’s more laissez-faire approach should be heartening to its population. The government entrusting its citizens to observe advice and adjust their behaviours accordingly without the threat of police intervention is something that should be applauded in a free society. It also maintains a higher level of trust going in the other direction, from the public to the government. On a practical level, not employing draconian measures immediately prevents hysteria from taking hold amongst the public and allows for a slower escalation of measures should they be needed.

Trust is an important factor in a democracy where a government rules by consent of the people. Public trust in Sweden is exceptionally high, with citizens having faith that their politicians are acting in the public interest. Their propensity to treat adults like adults is key to that trust remaining.

Without question, sacrifices will have to be made in the fight against Covid-19, but it is vital that public trust in the government is not one of the things lost. By taking a more measured response and basing their actions of advice rather than enforcement, Sweden’s government is taking a gamble but arguably a less risky one than Britain or Germany have. Sweden is allowing its economy to function at a much more normal level than the rest of Europe, which has effectively almost shut down.

If the pandemic turns out not to be as fatal as, for example, Britain’s experts initially feared, then the draconian measures enforced by other countries could result in the cure being worse than the disease. However, if it does turn out to be as deadly as predicted, but no more so in Sweden than in other countries, the government could still not be accused of having done nothing but would still be in a more economically stable condition. The only situation that would leave the Swedish government truly open to criticism would be if the mortality rate in Sweden outstrips similar countries, but thus far there seems little indication that that is likely to be the case.

EFFECTIC DESIGNS wrote:makes sense with Taxi service, you allowed 2 passengers instead of 4 so you double the price to compensate.

However for people traveling perhaps the government should pass a new law quick to force employers to compensate for travel fares those who don't get should be allowed travel allowances. This is very unfortunate for people working for small money

Govt should compensate the taxi & maxi drivers- is not their fault but not the passenger fault either

this is why i stop travelling- to risky even with 1 or 2 ppl and 1 cough in an enclosed AC (some took off the AC now) but the point is i can't walk away when those droplets are thrown into the air

Ambulance drivers sent a PAP letter to NCRHA because they were threatened with termination if they don't carry the COVID victims in regular vehicles.

Hearing a rumour that Ian Alleyne's cameraman got it and unfortunately spread it to his family who possibly started a community spread in Mafeking. Time will tell if the rumour is true.

Trini taxis aren't Uber and their practices are by no means an example to be made.

uber is not a route taxi and there is LESS demand, not more (maxi drivers waiting hours these days for passengers)

the link shows you supply and demand relationships in a real-world application.

price gouging would not be a relatively proportional increase in price given the increased cost of providing a seat.
