Reopenings bring new cases in S. Korea, virus fears in Italy
South Korea’s capital shut down nightclubs after a cluster of new coronavirus infections, and Italian authorities fear a second wave of cases as countries around the world try to find a balance between saving jobs and saving lives
South Korea's capital closed down more than 2,100 bars and other nightspots Saturday because of a new cluster of coronavirus infections, Germany scrambled to contain fresh outbreaks at slaughterhouses, and Italian authorities worried that people were getting too friendly at cocktail hour during the country's first weekend of eased restrictions.
The new flareups — and fears of a second wave of contagion — underscored the dilemma authorities face as they try to reopen their economies.

Coronavirus: Germany infection rate rises as lockdown eases
Coronavirus infections are rising in Germany, official data shows, just days after the country eased its lockdown restrictions.
According to the Robert Koch Institute (RKI), Germany's reproduction rate - the number of people each confirmed patient infects - is now above 1.
This means the number of infections is now rising in the country.
The report came as thousands of Germans gathered on Saturday calling for a total end to the lockdown.
Chancellor Angela Merkel announced a broad relaxation of national restrictions on Wednesday after talks with the leaders of Germany's 16 states.
All shops are allowed to reopen, pupils will gradually return to class and the Bundesliga - Germany's top football league - will restart as soon as next weekend.

This...drove through grande today, and nobody who were out and about had on masks. Persons going in and out of groceries, no mask and no hand washing. Everybody about their normal business. Sad that they just seem not to care

This is really shameful. I will not be surprised after this week, the PM shuts down these food establishments once more due to lack of adherence to protocols.

5 more samples sent to CARPHA, no other changes in covid19 stats
NARISSA FRASER 2 HRS AGO
THE total number of samples sent to the Caribbean Public Health Agency (CARPHA) and UWI for testing is now 2,312, after five more were sent overnight.
In its 10am daily update on Monday, the Health Ministry said there were no overnight changes to the number of cases thus far – 116 – and the number of patients discharged - 107. The number of unique patient tests done is 1,971 and the total number of repeated tests is 341.
One stable, non-bedridden patient remains at the Couva Hospital. Chief Medical Officer Dr Roshan Parasram, at the 10am virtual press conference on Monday, said this patient had been at the Home of Football step-down facility, but was moved back to the hospital as a precautionary measure after displaying symptoms.
The number of deaths remains at eight.
Parasram added that a patient who was at the High Dependency Unit of the Couva Hospital was discharged over the weekend after she returned negative results from two tests done within 24 hours.

- three separate lines
- a 30 to 40 degree angle between each line
- 3 feet front-back distance between each patron
The photo compresses that and makes it look like one big jostle with plenty people. But there is some order there and dare I say this is a good model for the "new normal" in dealing with crowds.
