When this is over, Trinis would have learnt absolutely nothing.

When we start burning bodies outside in the road by Caroni, maybe then.

But the death rate is still too slow for anyone to care.

I would say about 25 a day will raise a lil eyebrow but from 50-100+ a day will start shaking people up.

When ppl who choose to stay home dying and they unable to get transport for the body.....then.

When communities start reeking of decomposing bodies....then.

that kinda out of hand. KC Confectionery has no authority to send people to get tested, as described in the press release. They can make people to stay away from work (with full pay and benefits), but it might be illegal to order anyone to get tested in the course of their employment.

It's even sketchy for them to ask to see the results of your health tests (whether it is COVID19, HIV, diabetes, etc). It's confidential health information and none of the business of your employer. As far as the public health concern, that's where the MoH responsibility falls and NOT your employer.

they probably just asked them to be tested. also they are probably working in conjunction with MOH which would have given them the info about how many tested +ve. of course it also be MOH is overwhelmed with the huge number of cases right now and essentially delegated some contact tracing activities

CoP- Ignore False Social Media Posts on Covid-19 and Law Enforcement Issues

Commissioner of Police, Gary Griffith, is advising the public to ignore social media posts which are inaccurate and which can cause unnecessary panic among the citizens of Trinidad and Tobago.

The CoP has taken note of three recent instances where these so-called anonymous social media security sources posted inaccurate information, via WhatsApp and videos.

In the first instance, there was a video posted which showed illegal immigrants running onto the shore, saying it could have been Los Iros, Moruga, Cedros and Icacos. It turned out to be nationals of the Dominican Republic entering Puerto Rico.

In the second instance, social media was abuzz with information that the Prime Minister was going to implement a State of Emergency/Curfew long before he hosted his media conference on May 3rd. This turned out to be false.

In the third incident, a man who claimed to be an insider within the Ministry of National Security, posted audio within the past 24 hours saying he came out of a meeting at the Ministry of National Security with the Telecommunications Department and that the Covid situation was very bad. He even advised people to panic buy. The CoP says there was no such meeting.

Commissioner Griffith says these three incidents could have the effect of creating fear among the population and causing panic buying across the country. The CoP says this would cause the officers of the TTPS to respond to unnecessary matters when they could have been performing their normal activities.

The CoP is advising the public to ignore these false social media posts. He is also asking the public NOT to forward these messages as this could cause further panic among the population. He is also advising the public to ONLY accept information relating to the Covid-19 Pandemic from official sources, such as the Ministry of Health and bulletins from the TTPS.

my sis who in the US getting message from both a doctor and someone in the army that a 'full lockdown' coming. considering we already almost there (except for manufacturing sector and essential business) that could only mean SOE/curfew.

hope the army is called out to guard the porous borders and ttps can now enter private property to stop the parties

My friend and his father passed yesterday.. his entire family has it..his mom.. brother..sis in law..2 kids.. possibly they all can die..its a sad sad situation.
The covid facilities are already filled.. the country has alot more cases than what they are putting out to the public.

Eventually the truth does come out

Alot of tuners on this thread spreading false information.

the media or even MOH should do one and simply blur out patient's faces. it will stop all the covid deniers. is one ting they telling ppl and giving stats. is another thing to see it. a picture paints a thousand words. have the young patients state their age.

Peak Covid-19 infections in Trinidad are expected to occur on or about June 12th - five weeks from now. Peak infection rate is expected to be 70% higher than the current infection rate.
