That is the current ratio; only from January 3. So that boosters and waning immunity are considered.st7 wrote:adnj wrote:~12% of deaths were vaccinated.
isn't it 5.8%?

However, given our testing capacity limits (Omicron surges had 5 times more infections than Delta) we won't actually know the true number of cases which was already severely underestimated.
So basically don't expect a drastic fall in deaths until mid to late February.
i think i have it.
sore throat since last night. slight fever. diarrhea which got worse today. back pain. mild bad feeling like my body fighting something inside. chills. fver gone with panadol but i start to cough a lil bit and nose itching. sore throat got worse, like a constant burning and hot breath feeling in my throat. Got the Pfizer 3rd shot just after Christmas so i hope i pull thru. i self-quarantine for the next 2 weeks. if not, well bye everybody. somebody buy milk n pampers for hover11 irl.
after seeing >1000 cases today it obvious that omicron in the system full now and that real number could be 10x. Where i going to spend $900 to get a PCR? And everybody thinking the same, only spending that PCR money if i hoping a plane. Let terrance take all the rapid self -test that all other countries giving away for free to their citizens and let he take it and push up between he leg, dat muddacont.

Yeh bro,
Just like the healthcare system supposed to collapse over a year now. ICU capacity is critical.
The signs are there. Things falling apart.
Things so bad right now that Carnival 2022 is a discussion.

You ever try to encourage them to get the vaccine?

Perhaps people in your circle said that. No health agency said anything of the sort. What was said was that delta was more infectious and more people will become infected.daring dragoon wrote:PariaMan wrote:Antivaxxers where I work getting hit hard right now with covid . Hope they pull thru

they said the same when delta first arrived in trinidad and most were able to prevent it with the 3 W's so the same will be for omicron. only the foolish mask wearers and people who dont follow the 3 W's have to worry also the cloth mask wearers and the surgical mask wearers. the N95 wears and 3W'S dont need to panic. Omicron will fizzle out.
Fact: Wearing masks is an effective protective measure to help reduce the infection and spread of Omicron.
Myth: Face masks are useless against Omicron as the gaps in them are larger than the virus.
Based on the evidence that we have so far, all preventive measures that work against the Delta variant continue to be effective against Omicron – and this includes mask wearing. Omicron is moving so quickly that, in addition to vaccination, all other preventive measures – wearing a mask; cleaning hands; physical distancing; avoiding closed, confined or crowded spaces; coughing or sneezing into a bent elbow or tissue; and ensuring good ventilation – are needed to stem the wave of infection and protect health workers and systems.

In the pre-covid times, pneumonia was called "the old man's friend," because that was the way elderly people died.
better gauge of covid's impact would be to look at how many excess deaths there were in 2021 compared to 2019.
or the decrease in life expectancy

DR James Cambell did a video with the excess numbers discussed, and the above details.
Freedom of Info initiative..is the title of the vid.
Yes, the 5.5 million deaths around the world is due to incompetent hospital staff, nothing to do with the virus.matr1x wrote:Again...is it covid killing, or incompetent hospital staff?
