The Trinidad & Tobago Automobile Sports Association (TTASA) through a directive from the Federation Internationale de l’Automobile (FIA), of which TTASA is the Motorsport ASN for T&T, is hosting an online simulator racing series locally. This while the physical race track at Wallerfield remains closed due to Covid-19 prevention measures. TTASA has taken the opportunity to launch its TTASA eSports initiative which will add another motorsports discipline, in this case Simulator Racing, to its portfolio.
The TTASA GT Sport Digital Cup SIM Racing Competition will start on Wednesday May 27th with Qualifying rounds and work its way to the Finals on Saturday June 6th 2020. The event is title sponsored by Motul with GarageFresh, TriniTuner.com and Trap-Speed-Simulators T&T as additional sponsors.
The TTASA GT Sport Digital Cup SIM Racing Competition is open to all members and non-members of TTASA over the age of 15 years. Registration and cost to compete in this first series is absolutely free of charge.
Competitors can register using the online registration form at https://bit.ly/ttasa-esports. Requirements for participating in the event will include a Sony PlayStation 4 game console, Gran Turismo Sport game, a PlayStation Plus subscription and some driving experience. Competitors can use either the standard game controller or a racing simulator setup with steering wheel, pedals and shifter etc. There will be some of the top sim racers in T&T taking part in this tournament.
